Today is Pet Obesity Awareness Day, and it is a good reminder that those extra treats add up.

Carrying extra weight makes everyday movement harder on your pet and can affect their comfort and energy over time. The encouraging part is that small changes to food, portions, and activity really do make a difference.

Not sure where your pet stands? Call us to schedule a weight check and a nutritional consultation!

Here is a quick one you can do at home... Gently lift your pet's lip and take a look!

Red gums, discolored teeth or breath you can smell from across the couch are all worth a call to your veterinarian. Dental issues are common and they are a lot easier to manage when caught early.

Ask us about a dental check. Call us at (919) 662-3200 today!

As the mornings get cooler, you might notice your older pet moving a little slower.

Stiffness after a nap, hesitation at the stairs, or less interest in a favorite game are all symptoms you should contact your veterinarian to discuss.

It is easy to write these off as just getting older, but there is often a lot we can do to help them feel better.

If your senior seems off lately, give us a call at (919) 662-3200!

Today is World Rabies Day. Rabies is nearly always fatal but almost entirely preventable. Keeping your pet's rabies vaccine current protects them, your family, and your community, and it's required by law in most areas. Not sure if your pet is due? We can check your records.

Gray muzzles deserve extra love. As pets enter their senior years, twice-yearly exams help us stay ahead of the changes that come with age: kidney function, arthritis, dental disease, and more. Many age-related conditions are manageable when caught early. Your senior can stay comfortable and happy for years to come. Schedule a senior wellness check: https://us.vetstoria.com/booking/6866d5882f727/?r=6

Bad breath isn't just bad breath.

Most pets have some form of dental disease by age three, and that funky smell is often the first sign. Left untreated, dental disease causes pain and can affect the heart, liver, and kidneys.

The good news? It's preventable and treatable.

Ask us about a dental check at your next visit.
