Letās see if I can get thru a story time without offending someone. Spent my morning with Ms Moxie, a regular 6 week client Iāve seen since she was a puppy. And even for years before that with their previous pup Eddie. Iāve been doing this line of work for years, but never claimed to be perfect, by any stretch. I have good days and bad days, pretty much like everyone else. I donāt do seminars and furthering education. I just found them tedious, and not my thing. I know how to use the equipment I have, and do simple clips to keep dogs clean, cute and comfortable. Thatās it. No bows, no colors, and low on the scents. But I strive to keeps grooms as chill as I humanly possibly can. Not fun, it just isnāt. Most donāt like one or multiple aspects of what I do, the dryer, foot touching, baths, whatever. I just try to keep calm and get it done. Learned a new one today. I know dogs donāt like the dryer, not a one of them. Moxie is super sweet and easy going, but decided to be very talkative while I was drying her. Thought it was odd, but in moments of calmness, I gave her love and just kept doing my thing when she got talking. Reward the calm, donāt engage with anxiety. Even Indy was up looking at me wondering what was happening. Heās looking at me, Iām looking at Mox, all 3 looking at each other, whatās happening? She wasnāt talking at all, air was getting under the bandaid on my finger and vibrating a high pitch noise that was freaking everyone out but sounding like squeak talking Iām familiar with when her drying pets. Stupid bandaid on my finger made noise and got us worked up. Needed that bandaid as I had a popped blister under it to keep it from peeling. But pulled that sucker right off, things went quiet and right back on course. Finished drying and sat with her for a moment as she destroyed my face with kisses. All is good, new lesson learned, groom is done, everyoneās happy. Moxie always makes for a good day, and today came with a lesson š©¹š¶š¶ā¤ļø
