**COURTESY POST**

Location: Halfmoon, NY

Prince, neutered male, 5yrs old, 58lbs

Prince is a almost 6 year old sheltie heeler kid. He is house trained and up to date on all of his vaccinations. Prince is also fixed. I am not sure if he is good around other dogs but he is good around cats. I would consider him a pretty hyper dog who loves visitors and playing. Prince is not crate trained but he is also not destructive.

I unfortunately have to rehome him because he has been showing signs of aggression towards my children within the past couple of years. My children are very hyper and loud and I believe it makes Prince nervous to the point if my children walk by him he growls. Prince is a good doggy but he would do best in a quieter home without children and preferably an owner who has the time to go out and play with him and let him run around. He absolutely loves running and playing

Prince is not an ACDRA Foster Dog. If you are interested in Prince or have questions, please email [email protected]

Location: Cumberland, RI

Eno, spayed female, 9-11 yrs old, 64lbs

Eno is a friendly happy girl, My mom passed and We cannot keep her because we all have dogs and or cats, in the past she was friendly with a couple of male dogs, but probably should be the only pet. She follows commands ,crate trained, house broken , she loves her toys.

She is located in RI, comes from Maine, where she was off leash, we leash her here because of traffic concerns. Eno loves walks and belly rubs. she is currently over weight and is on a special diet.

This is not an easy decision, and anyone with interest will be screened properly. There will be a rehoming fee to assure this dog goes to a caring home. Transportation maybe possible. This angel deserves a home of her own with someone that has time to spend with her, hiking or short walks and loves car rides.

Eno is not an ACDRA Foster Dog. If you are interested in Eno or have questions, please email [email protected]

**COURTESY POST**

Location: East Greenwich, RI

Blue, neutered male, 7yrs old, 53lbs

Blue is a loving, energetic, and loyal dog. He loves hiking, playing in the snow, running
on the beach, and snuggling on the couch. Blue has received formal training and knows
many commands, is eager to learn, and is treat motivated. He is neutered, up to date on
all vaccines, is house trained, doesn’t mind his crate, and is not destructive. He does
not enjoy vet visits and requires medication. He is healthy and has not had medical
issues – he had treatment for a tick-borne illness (anaplasmosis in 2022 ) and has a
chicken allergy to. He is anxious at baseline, and especially during fireworks. He barks
at the mailman, delivery trucks, and when people knock on the door or ring the doorbell
but can be redirected with proper commands. He is tolerant of adult visitors but takes a
moment to warm up to people and does best when he is able to initiate the interaction.
Blue will thrive in a home that is child and other pet free, with a couple or individual who
is looking for a loving companion. Beyond the physical activity, he responds very well to
mental stimulation.

We love Blue incredibly much and this is one of the most difficult decisions we have
ever had to make but we know it is the right one for both Blue and our family. We now
have a 10-month old son who is crawling and starting to walk which is making Blue
uneasy and more anxious than usual. We were optimistic that we could make it work to
have both our son and Blue but we have had one incident with the two of them that is
leading us to confirm this very difficult decision.

We would love to do a zoom call or meet and greet as applicable with any potential
adopters so we can meet you and you are able to meet Blue to help ensure a future
home would be a great fit for both parties. We are determined to find Blue a suitable
home that we are confident he can have just a good of a life if not better and willing to
put in a great amount of time, money, and effort to make that work including
transporting him to his new home or anything else that can help make a smooth
transition possible. We do not require an adoption fee or donation.

Meet Hollin! 🐾

If your idea of the perfect pup is one that loves to cuddle and who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Hollin is ready to apply for the job.

At just 9 weeks old, he is the definition velcro dog. While many puppies are busy wrestling and causing mischief, Hollin prefers to be curled up with his foster mom, soaking up all the snuggles and watching the world go by. He is happiest when he's close to his people and would gladly spend the day being your shadow.

Hollin currently lives with two resident cattle dogs—a grumpy 10-year-old female and a playful 1.5-year-old female. He absolutely adores following the older dog around and wants to do everything she does. While he isn't particularly interested in playing with either of the dogs, he enjoys being part of the pack and gains confidence from having canine role models around him.

Though naturally more of an observer than a participant, Hollin is becoming more curious and adventurous every day. He's starting to branch out, explore his surroundings, and discover that the world is a pretty interesting place.

This handsome little guy is already making great progress with his puppy manners:

sleeps through the night (snuggled up next to you)

doing great with potty training and knows he gets a treat when he comes back inside (and sits patiently for it)

working on crate training

loves hanging out with foster mom while she works from home and considers himself an excellent coworker

extremely food motivated and never turns down a snack

Hollin has done wonderfully with the dogs in his foster home. He has not been around cats, so his compatibility with feline friends is unknown.

Sweet, gentle, affectionate, and incredibly easy to love, Hollin is the ultimate good boy.

If you're looking for a puppy who wants to be your best friend, your couch buddy, and your loyal sidekick all in one, Hollin may be the perfect addition to your family.

Hollin is microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. He will be adopted with a neuter contract.

Questions? Email his foster family at [email protected] or apply at the link below to adopt Hollin and let the snuggles begin!

Naples, NY

Pixie is a 9 week old female purebred looking Cattle dog puppy who was surrendered with her whole family to an overcrowded shelter in Georgia.

Pixie has average puppy energy mixing playing with her sibling and with her older foster brother equally well. She is crate trained at night and can sleep all night without any messes. At night, she sometimes puts herself to bed in her crate. Daytime house training is ongoing.

Pixie loves other dogs and would love a canine companion. She is also currently doing very well with cats both younger ones and seniors. Pixie has a brave and adventurous spirit. She figures out things quickly and is eager to greet neighbors both human and canine. She has been described as just "melting into you" when she first meets someone. She loves to cuddle on your lap and is very attentive to all your movements.Pixie is looking for a home that will keep her mentally and physically stimulated. Experience with the breed is preferable and the best home is one in which she will not have to be in a crate for much of the day. Photos of her parents are available.

She will be adopted out with a spay contract. Pixie is about 13 pounds, microchipped and UTD on vaccines.

Meet Cody!

This handsome 3½-year-old Red Heeler is looking for an active home that can keep up with his adventurous spirit! If you love spending time outdoors, playing fetch, and having a loyal companion by your side, Cody may be your perfect match.

Cody is happiest when he's outside exploring, running, and playing. His absolute favorite activity is fetch—he could chase a ball for hours and will happily bring it back for another throw. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys having canine companions around.

He is crate trained and has been a sweet, affectionate foster dog. He loves attention from his people and enjoys being included in family activities.

Like many Heelers, Cody can be mouthy when excited and is still learning appropriate manners. He appears to have had little to no formal obedience training before coming into foster care, so his new family should be prepared to continue working on basic commands and structure. The good news is that he's smart, eager to engage, and already making progress.

Cody would do best with an active adopter who understands the needs of herding breeds and is committed to providing regular exercise, training, and mental enrichment. In return, you'll get a loyal, loving companion who is ready to be your adventure buddy.

- 3½ years old
- Red Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog)
- Crate Trained
- Dog Friendly
- Loves Fetch
- Active and Outdoorsy
- Sweet and Affectionate
- Currently Learning Basic Obedience and Manners

If you're looking for a fun-loving dog with lots of potential and an even bigger heart, Cody would love to meet you!

Looking for the cutest spicy teddy bear you’ve ever seen? Sandy is it! Sandy has been through some things in the short life she’s lived so far. Not to worry though, she doesn’t let that stop her from being the life of the party!

Sandy appears to be mixed with something fairly small as she currently weighs about 15 lbs. Sandy is goofy, spunky, playful and loves to get the zoomies and run, run, run! She loves to play and wrestle with her sister and she loves to chew on bones and toys.

Sandy has been catching onto potty training really quickly, but she still will require consistent continued training. Sandy is clean in her crate, goes potty outside, and sleeps through the night!

Sandy is looking for an active home that will continue her training. She will need plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation to ensure she can be on her best behavior! She does like to have a good couch snuggle with some belly rubs (She may do questionable things for a good belly rub!), but she will jump up to play instantly if that’s an option! Sandy is more food than toy motivated, but still loves to play with toys too!

Sandy is more reserved, she is friendly, but she can be shy. She has been as gentle as 15 week old puppy can be with kids, but she does still bite and jump. She does consistently look to her sister for confidence, so another confident friendly pup for her to learn from and look up to would benefit her! Sandy will chase anything that moves, so I do not believe a home with cats would be a good fit for her.

Sandy does have a significant overbite that may require additional dental care in the future. It does not affect her ability to eat or function at this time, and it truly fits her goofy personality!

Sandy will be adopted on a spay contract. If you are interested in Sandy, or have any questions please reach out to her foster home at [email protected]

Looking for full heeler-tude in a packed into a pocket sized body?! Then look no further than Tilly! Tilly’s story may have had a tough start, but she doesn’t let that stop her one bit!

Tilly is a small but mighty pup! At about 12 lbs she is confident and brave! She is the first to investigate something new, and in true heeler fashion has no problem voicing her opinions!

Tilly’s favorite activities are rough and tumbling with her sister, playing chase, chewing on a bone or toy, and snuggling! Tilly is a good sport and always puts up with her sister’s shenanigans.

Tilly has been a rockstar with potty training! Though she will still need continued training, she is clean in her kennel, sleeps through the night, and knows to potty when she goes outside!

Tilly will need a home who is dedicated to continuing her training, as she is very smart and will need lots of mental stimulation, but she does seems to have an off switch once her needs have been met! This is the perfect time to collect those couch snuggles. That’s right, Tilly LOVES a good snuggle time on her humans legs, and just being picked up and held! Tilly is also extremely food and toy motivated.

Tilly is a really good observer, she will sit and watch something to try and figure out exactly what is happening when she experiences something new. Tilly has been excellent with the kids she has met, but is still a puppy and is learning not to use her teeth and jump! She will greet everyone she meets with crazy tail wags, and would love to have another playful doggy sibling. With proper introduction, she may be able to live with a dog savvy cat.

Tilly will be adopted on a spay contract. If you are interested in Tilly, or have any questions please reach out to her foster home at [email protected]

PIRATE NEEDS SOME ACDRA LOVE AND HELP!

Our sweet Pirate being fostered in NC has had a bit of a hiccup. He hasn't been feeling the greatest and last night he was taken to the emergency vet and this sweet boy has some foreign bodies floating around in his belly that need to be removed before they cause any further damage. This emergency surgery, hospitalization and care is coming at a great cost to the rescue and we are hoping to get a little help to cover the bill.

Currently, our estimate is $4000 - $6000. He is such a sweet boy who has already faced so many challenges in life and he deserves a second chance at a happy healthy life.

If you would like to donate towards Pirates care, you can use one of our cash applications listed below, the donation button on our website or if you would like to do a check by mail send it to ACDRA 139 McClure Road, Cheswick, PA 15024. Thank you in advance for any help you can give! And please keep sweet Pirate in your thoughts and prayers!!!
