Sarah Faught Quarter Horses 2026 show season has drawn to a close. Our final competition took place at the Brookside Bonanza Fall Show held October 1-4 at the lovely Brookside Equestrian Center. Although the weather was a bit toasty, the shady accommodations made for a tolerable event. Seven of our horses and riders competed for fun prizes, AQHA points and High Point titles.
🏆🏆 Donnie Flahavan and her 3 year-old partner, HF Frozen N Fabulous were named the High Point Brookside Bonanza All Breed Ranch Amateur Champions. Goose and Donnie also won numerous blue ribbons, plus Top 5 in their W/T Ranch classes as well as their loping classes. This included Ranch Riding and Ranch Rail and Trail. Congratulations Donnie and Goose!
🏆🏆⭐️ Our All-Around star, Code Blue Cowboy and his mom, Jessica Hawkins, worked their tails off and were eventually named the Brookside Bonanza AQHA Reserve High Point L1 Amateur Champions. Jessica and Henry showed their diversity when they garnered blue ribbons in Performance Geldings (including winning a Grand Championship under one of the four judges!), L1 Amateur Hunter Under Saddle, L1 Amateur Western Pleasure, plus Top 5 placings in L1 Amateur Horsemanship and Western Riding. Sarah also showed Henry to a win in L1 Open Trail. Jessica and Henry also added a slew of AQHA points to their resume. Congratulations you two!
⭐️⭐️ Another of our All-Around stars was He Solved The Crime, owned and ridden by Jennifer Chan. Stanley and Jennifer excelled with wins in W/T Youth/Amateur as well as Open Western Pleasure and Youth/Amateur Horsemanship. They also repeated this feat in their loping classes. Plus they were Top 5 in many other classes. Great show Jennifer and Stanley!
⭐️ Linda Patron and The Darque Knight were only able to compete one day but that didn’t stop them from letting their presence be known, winning a second and three thirds in very competitive Amateur Trail classes. Way to go Linda and Ira!
⭐️ Amateur Tricia Avila and her pretty boy, A Cherry On Top, ventured into the L1 Open Trail class both days and came home with two firsts and two seconds. Fantastic rides Tricia and Casey!
⭐️ Steph Anderson and her mighty little steed, Too Smart To Dual, were stars in all three of their Amateur Ranch events including blues and AQHA points in Ranch Riding, Ranch Rail and Ranch Trail. Congratulations Steph and Wink!
⭐️🤠 Our comeback story belongs to Marilyn Silva and her trusty mount, Nothing More Certain. Marilyn broke her hip in early March and has worked super hard to rehabilitate and get back in the saddle. In only her second show since her injury, she and Lyle showed their partnership was still strong as they won third under both judges in a big Amateur Trail class! We are so happy for you two!
⭐️ Mike Rodgers and his best boy, Lope Em If U Got Em, were winners in their L1 Western Riding class and Top 5 placers in their L1 and Amateur Trail classes. Good job Mike and Mitchell!
In closing, our sincere thank you to Brookside Equestrian Park, Brookside Bill and staff, Show Services (Jennifer Mendes and Victoria Windham) for providing this fun show for us! Mia Nunes, we couldn’t have done it without you! Mia you made it so much fun! So grateful to you. Thank you also to Tom Flahavan for all of his help behind the scenes and the entertainment! And last but not least, our “horse show mom extraordinaire”, Liz Nunes, thank you for the fun candid photos and your support always.
