Not much going here with the dogs, I am ecstatic to say. Of course, now that I posted it something will happen. Just kidding. We have all been hanging out at the house trying to stay cool. That has become a huge challenge. The heat usually doesn't bother me. However, this heat I feel. Somedays stepping onto the front porch is like stepping into a suffocating blanket. The heat is ongoing. It used to be at some point during the night or early morning the temperature would be pleasant. Not right now. When Stormy, Skye, and I walk we go at six. Most days are okay. This morning, we made it down to the end of Boles St. Looking at Stormy and Skye panting, I realized we were done. I didn't mind. We walked fare enough for Stormy to leave his card on his favorite stop sign and ditch with high grass. Watching him crawl and smile in grass higher than him made me laugh out loud. As soon as he heard me, he leaped up, glowing, and started galloping up and down the road. We headed back. Me with a much lighter heart. Walking back to the car, I realized just how much I love walking. I also, told myself that when it was cold, I would make myself walk. Honestly, my mental and emotional health is tied up with walking. Blows my mind how much better I feel inside when I walk. Once I get past the shock of waking up at five thirty/five forty-five.
Willow, Skye, and I enjoyed ourselves immensely Halloween shopping at Home Goods!!! I didn't know where to look first!! Halloween is probably my favorite holiday to decorate for. Although with the extreme heat thinking about Halloween is challenging. To me, it should be cold or chilly outside for it. Hoodies, bonfires, trick or treating, hot drinks, the harvest, pumpkins, costumes, ghosts, witches, lights.... etc. Unfortunately, if I don't shop now in the heat, all the stuff will be gone. There isn't any going back. But I so miss the holidays coming at their proper time. Christmas after Thanksgiving. Halloween in October. Since the decorations are out now.... yours truly here was shopping. I actually got out of the store for under fifty dollars!! I felt like I'd won the lottery. Willow did an impressive job of handling Skye in the store. While a shopper was petting Skye, Willow told her all about Skye. Those two have such a close bond and connection it is incredible. They grew up together. Definitely made them close.
Titan is eating and drinking and enjoying life. And still making me crazy. Why I love him. Last night though...maybe not. I told him, if he didn't stop going back and forth from the bathroom to the laundry room several times, he was getting a Trazadone. Then I said, I was taking the Trazadone and he could keep walking. Just kidding. As it was, neither one of us needed it. He still bucks and bounces around his room and the backyard. When I am hanging out with him, he lays across my feet. A lot of times, I'll sit on his bed with him. Now, I figured out how to let Titan hang out in the living room while I watch TV. I put a soft bed by the couch, guide him to it, and watch something. I don't worry about Skye and Stormy visiting Titan. They are told to stay away. Thankfully, they listen. Skye goes to her spot on chair. Stormy the other side of the recliner. Why didn't I think of this before?? Titan was with my yesterday for my morning coffee and writing on the porch. He lives deeply in my heart.
Thor, so far so good. He is loving life bouncing around the yard and house. The house when my two are outside. He found his person with Maria. He belongs here now. At night he watches movies with me. I am not much of TV person. It's hard for me to find a program I want to watch. At night, for Thor, I try. We usually watch Heartland. He doesn't mind. When he is out with us, I tell him "Place." He stays on the dog bed until I release him. That is such an amazing command. Keeping the leash on him is a game changer as well. Truly, I don't think he is going to misbehave. I just would like to have a handle if he did. With dogs, especially bull terriers, I can't take anything for granted.
Life is amazing!!! For me it is an incredible journey of growing and learning. Every day that I am here I do my best to make the world better for all beings living here, spreading peace, love, positive healing energy, and joy.... lots of joy.
Sending a stupendous day to all my beautiful friends!!!! Love, Linda.
