First off, we would like to apologize if any of our clients experienced any excessive construction noise during visits over the last few months. We have done our best to work around the construction while staying open and not reducing appointment schedules. Construction is finally complete and we are getting back to normal. We have done some remodeling to provide more exam room and surgical space along with finally adding a large break room that can accommodate staff meetings and luncheons. The changes have greatly improved our work flow and efficiency. We are always looking at ways to invest back into the practice so that our clients and staff have the best experiences possible.

A big thanks to Cross Driven Construction. As a privately owned small business we count on relationships with other small businesses in the area to keep us open and operating at our highest potential. We have used Cross Driven Construction for numerous projects over the last 15 years. No matter what we dream up, they have always made it happen and have been a real asset to our business.

Another big thanks to Gibson Furniture. They have been a Gallatin staple on the square for 50 years and have been our go to when we need to update office furniture.

On this day 25 years ago, I was setting in an 8 AM chemistry class at Western Kentucky University. By 9 AM rumors were quickly swirling that there was a bomb or fire at one of the trade towers. By the time class was over both towers were attacked and the pentagon was hit shortly after. By the time I finished my 2nd course of the morning both trade towers had collapsed and the country as I knew it was forever changed. I will never forget the timeline of this day and the feeling of confusion as to why this would happen. How could anyone hate others so much and put so little value on life. On that day we all learned that we are not safe. 2977 people died in these attacks and countless pets were killed when the towers collapsed. Today we remember those that were lost and honor the first responders and over 300 search and rescue canines that worked to pull people from the rubble.

Dr Wielgus asked us to pass along the below note to all of her clients. We wish her the best in her future endeavors.

To the Pets and People I Have Loved;

Sometimes our greatest blessings come from places we least expect. When I graduated veterinary school, I was certain I wanted to go into academia, but I was tired and thought I would give general practice a go. What a surprise to look back eight years later on all the joy private practice has brought me. This community has influenced so much of the way I practice medicine and will continue to practice medicine for years to come. Of course, it is often when we get most comfortable that change weasels its way in. Commuting is a challenge and one of my trade-offs was time spent with my kids, and the time has come to prioritize spending more time with my family. I will miss everyone - all the pups and kittens and their people too. This community has blessed me beyond measure and will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for the beautiful well wishes on our page as well as the cards and gifts. You have all made me feel so loved.

Thank you for 8 wonderful years,

Dr Kayla Wielgus
