Today, we’re excited to recognize Emily, one of our amazing Veterinary Assistants who has been part of our clinic family for 17 years! 🩺

Emily’s love for animals inspired her to start her journey in veterinary medicine. She loves that every day brings something new to learn! Her favorite part of the job is working hands on with patients and helping them feel better. ❤️

✨ A few fun facts about Emily:

🐾 Her favorite animal is the giraffe! 🦒
🐾 Her favorite dog breeds are Boxers and Border Collies.
🐾 She has 3 dogs, 1 cat, 1 ball python, and 1 tortoise at home!
🐾 Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her kids and hiking in the woods.
🐾 Her favorite food is pasta, and her favorite movie is Dirty Dancing!
🐾 If she could spend a day with any animal, she’d choose a gorilla! 🦍

💙What does Emily wish more pet owners knew?

That veterinary assistants and technicians do so much more behind the scenes than many people realize! From monitoring anesthesia and assisting with procedures to comforting patients and helping veterinarians provide the best possible care, their work makes a huge difference!

One of Emily’s most rewarding experiences is helping the doctors find solutions and watching patients recover. Of course, the cuddles and tail wags are an added bonus!

After 17 years of dedication, we are so thankful for Emily’s hard work, dedication , and the care she provides to our patients every day!

Meet Cole, one of the newest members of our clinic team! Cole has been working in veterinary medicine for 7 months as a Client Service Representative and Veterinary Assistant. 🩺🐶
Cole’s love for animals inspired him to pursue veterinary medicine. His favorite part of the job is interacting with patients, getting to know them, and watching them improve and grow!

✨ A few fun facts about Cole:
🐻‍❄️His favorite animals are polar bears and whale sharks!
🐶He has 2 dogs and 1 cat at home.
🐾His favorite breeds are Labrador Retrievers, Maine C***s, and Oriental cats.
🐾 Outside of work, he enjoys hanging out with friends, writing, playing video games, and researching animal behavior!
🐾 His favorite movie series is The Lord of the Rings.
🐾 If he could spend a day with any animal, he’d choose a polar bear, as long as it wouldn’t harm him! 🐻‍❄️

What does Cole wish more pet owners knew?
-That even when a procedure seems simple, there’s often much more happening behind the scenes than people realize! Veterinary teams put a lot of care and effort into every patient.

Cole has learned that animals are often more complicated than they appear, and he enjoys continuing to learn something new every day!

Today we’re celebrating Madison, our Inventory Manager and Tech Assistant! 🩺🐶

Madison has been in veterinary medicine since 2017 and part of our clinic family for almost 5 years! Her love for animals started in her childhood and continues to inspire her every day.
Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is helping pet owners keep their furry friends healthy and witnessing the special bond between pets and their families. She finds it especially rewarding knowing she’s made a difference in an animal’s life!

* She has 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 chickens! 🐔
* She loves ultrasounds, X-rays, and puppy and kitten visits!
* Outside of work, she enjoys family time, nature, and cooking from scratch! 🌿

Today, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Laura, our Hospital Manager and Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)! 🩺🐶🐱

Laura has been working in veterinary medicine for 10 years and has been apart of our clinic family for the past 2 years!

What inspired Laura to pursue veterinary medicine?

Laura’s passion for veterinary medicine comes from her desire to “be a voice for those who cannot speak.” One of the most rewarding parts of her career is being an advocate for animals and ensuring they receive the best possible care.

🐾 What does Laura love most about her job?

Besides all the patient snuggles (of course! 🥰), Laura loves educating pet owners and providing the gold standard of veterinary care.

What is something Laura wishes more pet owners knew about veterinary technicians?

Laura wants pet owners to understand just how much veterinary technicians do behind the scenes! Veterinary technicians are much like nurses in human medicine, working alongside veterinarians to provide essential medical care.

Their responsibilities include:

* Surgical & Anesthesia Care: Preparing patients for surgery, monitoring anesthesia, and caring for patients during recovery.
* Diagnostics & Lab Work: Drawing blood, running laboratory tests, taking X-rays, and assisting with diagnostics.
* Patient Nursing Care: Administering medications, placing IV catheters, monitoring vital signs, and providing everything from routine nursing care to emergency and critical care.
* Client Education: Helping pet owners understand medications, nutrition, at-home care, and recovery instructions.

Veterinary technicians undergo specialized education and training to provide this level of care. While they cannot diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, or perform surgery, their knowledge and skills are essential to veterinary medicine!

Laura also wants pet owners to understand that veterinary medicine is a career driven by compassion, not money. Behind every appointment is a team working hard to provide quality care while balancing the costs of keeping a veterinary hospital running. The dedication, emotions, and hard work that go into caring for every patient often extend far beyond what clients see. ❤️

* She loves both cats and dogs and has both at home!
* Outside of work, she enjoys reading and practicing self-care.

* She’s even taken a solo cruise to Grand Turk, the Dominican Republic, and Nassau!

Laura’s advice for anyone considering veterinary medicine:

She reminds us all that veterinary medicine is about so much more than a job. It’s about compassion, dedication, and being a voice for the animals who depend on us.

Tech Week Spotlight! 🌟

Today we are recognizing Laney, one of our Veterinary Assistants! You may have seen her around the clinic, but let’s get to know more about her!

Laney has been working in veterinary medicine for 6 months and has been part of our clinic family for 1 month. Her favorite part of the job is working with animals, helping them feel better, and making sure our patients feel comfortable and cared for.

🐾 Her favorite breed is the French Bulldog.
🐾 At home, she has French Bulldogs of her own!
🐾 Outside of work, she enjoys hanging out with her kids.
🐾 She loves cleaning and working on projects, and she also runs her own business!
🐾 Her favorite food is Culver’s or Chick-fil-A.
🐾 You might find her watching Outer Banks, veterinary shows, or true crime shows!
