Not all training approaches align with modern behavioral science.

APDT’s Standards of Practice clearly state that training should not rely on methods designed to cause fear, pain, or intimidation.

Instead, the focus is on:
• Humane, effective interventions
• A systematic approach to behavior
• Ongoing professional development

Standards exist to protect both dogs and the integrity of the profession.

DODGER UPDATE (reactive/intensive) ->
WOLFPACK REVIEW
"After 2 years of failed attempts to find a trainer who understood the complexity of my dog’s behaviors, I found Walter and he became the best fit for our specific goals. Dodger has struggled with reactivity to several involuntary human behaviors like sneezing/coughing, tripping, dropping and picking up objects to the extent that he would charge and bite whoever did these things - myself included. Walter has patiently and courageously applied science without force to reduce my dog’s reactive behaviors and propensity to bite by about 75% after 6 months. He is a great teacher and his use of The Dunbar Training Method is proving to be very effective and life-changing for me and Dodger without any unwanted residual behaviors. I continue daily training at home that shows just how much Walter’s methods truly work. I highly recommend Wolfman’s Canine Training to anyone who is serious and dedicated to improving life with a reactive dog!"

What is better than 1 head tilting puppy?? 2!!
This pretty black shepard, Cissy has joined us this spring at the DOG FARM for a 4-week BOARD & TRAIN to work on the following (owner's words!):

"Getting her more comfortable or neutral around other people/animals, while also ensuring she is able to behave well indoors"

What makes a dog training professional credible?

Professionalism in dog training isn’t defined by opinions. It’s defined by standards.

APDT members commit to:
• Science-based training approaches
• Continuing education
• Ethical accountability
• A shared body of knowledge

In a growing and often unregulated industry, structure matters.

Because better standards don’t just support trainers.

They improve outcomes for dogs and the people who care for them.

This sweet blue eyed boy, Aspen has joined us this spring at the DOG FARM for a 4-week BOARD & TRAIN to work on the following (owner's words!):
🐺🌻🌿🐺🍀🏵🐺🦋🪺
1. STOP marking and p*eing all over the house and everywhere else!
2. Give cues that he needs to p*e or p**p
3. Follow basic commands
4. Walk off-leash without running away

Through patience and perseverance (and A LOT of husky experience!) our lead canine behaviorist Walter Wolfman will address all of these concerns. We will also teach Aspen's human how to keep up on training at home through some private follow up sessions!!
