Gainesville Canine Academy Teaching humans to speak dog! We offer friendly training for you and your dog. We specialize in service dog training for PTSD, C-PTSD, and anxiety.

Canine Academy will help you solve your dog's behavior issues quickly and effectively. If your dog exhibits behaviors that make it difficult for you to have guests over, take him for walks, or enjoy your time together, contact us so we can help. Training is done either in our office in Gainesville, or at your home with you

and your family with your dog. You will learn what your dog is trying to accomplish with the misbehavior and how to refocus his behavior so that you are able to better communicate with your dog. Your time with your dog should be fun and enjoyable for both of you. Let our years of experience help you have fun with your dog!

🐾 Maverick’s First Day on the Job! 🇺🇸🐾

Today Maverick had his very first public-access training session at Hobby Lobby, and this future service dog for his dad - a proud Navy veteran who served as a Combat Medic with the Marines - absolutely rocked it! 🎉🇺🇸

Now, let’s be clear… Maverick is a Boxer, so naturally he has chosen to specialize in the fine art of “Down.” 😂
Floor? DOWN. ⬇️
Waiting? DOWN. ⬇️
Taking a break? DOWN. ⬇️
Someone might have a treat? Immediately DOWN. 🤣

But underneath all that Boxer silliness is a smart, sweet boy who is learning exactly what it takes to become his dad’s service dog. Today was a fantastic first step, and we couldn’t be prouder of this handsome guy!

This smart, lovable Shetland Sheepdog - better known as a Sheltie - is learning the skills he needs to become his dad’s service dog. From building dependable obedience to practicing calm focus in everyday settings, Panda is working hard while bringing plenty of personality and heart to every training session. 😀🐕‍🦺

Lucas is learning that even when another dog is nearby, his most important job is to stay focused, connected, and ready for the people who may need him. 🐾❤️

As a Station Dog with Alachua County Fire Rescue, Lucas is preparing to offer specialized therapy dog support to first responders after critical incidents. Those moments can be heavy, emotional, and unpredictable so his training includes learning to focus through everyday distractions, including the excitement of seeing other dogs. 🐕‍🦺🫡

Each successful moment of focus helps Lucas grow into the steady, comforting presence he is meant to be. We are so proud of this sweet boy and the difference he will one day make for the heroes who care for our community. 🚒
