This is sweet Bear 🐻
Bear and his mom and I started talking the other day after his groom. His mom figured it out by looking through pictures but I have been grooming Bear since 2021. So much has changed since that first groom, and watching him age has been so hard.
These days, Bear can’t handle the drying process like he used to. He now lays down for almost his entire groom and that’s okay because he’s one of those I just do what works best for him and he always give me a good laugh when I’m there. 🥹😂
These are the moments that remind me that what I do is so much more than grooming. I get to watch these sweet babies grow, change, and grow older right alongside their families. They become part of my life, and honestly, they take up a HUGE part of my heart.
Because I don’t just groom dogs.
I get to know them.
I get to watch them grow.
I get to be there through the years.
I get to see the puppy they once were slowly become the sweet old soul they are becoming.
And somewhere along the way, they stop feeling like clients and start feeling like family. ❤️
Some of these babies have been coming to me for years, and they have quietly taken pieces of my heart with them.
One day, we will wish we could go back to the days when they had endless energy and could jump into the tub without a second thought. But until then, I’m going to cherish every slow groom, every sleepy face, every little gray hair, and every moment I’m lucky enough to spend with them.
Bear will always be one of my special babies, and I’m so thankful his mom has trusted me with him all these years. 🩵🥹🐾🫧
