The Solo Select Rope Horse Futurity paid $760,400 over two days of competition when it wrapped up on October 1, 2026, a $178,820 jump from the $581,580 paid in 2025. That represents a 30.75% year-over-year increase across heading, heeling, calf roping and breakaway. The best 4-year-old rope horses in the country in the country came to head, heel, calf rope and breakaway. The clean slate short rounds set the stage for them to leave it all out there, and the sire pots paid out big.

How did the Sire Pot spill-over work? Here's the real math from the Heading. 👇

The Sire Pot pays the top Solo-sired horses that MAKE THE FINALS. This year only one Solo-sired horse made the Heading Open Finals, Kryptoniite, so he collected Sire Pot 1st: $60,000.

The other $70,800 spilled into the Main Pot, and every Main Pot check got bigger. The Heading winner was going to get $40,000 and took home $60,403!

But here's the thing: as our roping nominated stallions have more and more horses reaching show age, we expect less and less money will be left to spill over to the Main Pot.

So what does that mean? You better be breeding, buying and riding one by a Solo Select Stallion, or you're leaving a LOT of money on the table!
