🚨 Bobcat Fever Cases Are Rising in Our Area🚨

We have recently seen multiple cases of Bobcat Fever (also called Cytauxzoonosis), and we want cat owners to be aware of just how serious this disease can be.

Bobcat Fever is a life-threatening disease spread by ticks, most commonly the Lone Star tick, though the American dog tick can also carry it. Cats become infected after being bitten by an infected tick, often after spending time outdoors, even briefly.

Symptoms can include:
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite
• Fever
• Difficulty breathing
• Hiding or sudden behavior changes
• Pale or yellow gums

Unfortunately, this disease progresses very quickly and can become fatal within days.

The best protection is prevention.

We strongly recommend keeping cats on a monthly tick prevention year-round, especially in the Southeast where Lone Star ticks are extremely common. We carry NexGard Combo, which helps protect cats against Lone Star ticks, fleas, heartworms, and intestinal parasites. It begins killing ticks quickly after attachment to help reduce risk of disease transmission.

🐾Even indoor cats can be at risk if ticks are brought inside on people, dogs, or other pets.

⚠️ If your cat has had possible tick exposure or is showing any of the symptoms listed above, contact us immediately. Early diagnosis and treatment are critical with Bobcat Fever.

📞 If your cat is not currently on prevention, give us a call to get them protected. A simple monthly preventative can make all the difference during tick season.

Dental health is more than just fresh breath, it’s a vital part of your pet’s overall wellness. 🐶🐱

Plaque and tartar buildup can lead to gum disease, tooth loss, and painful oral infections. When dental disease is left untreated, bacteria in the mouth can enter the bloodstream and contribute to serious health issues such as heart disease, kidney disease, liver problems, and systemic infection. Many pets show few outward signs, meaning they may be suffering from dental discomfort long before owners notice.

This February, in honor of Pet Dental Health Month, we’re offering 20% off dental extractions when performed during a dental procedure, helping protect your pet’s comfort, health, and quality of life.

🩺 Dental procedures are performed under anesthesia to ensure your pet’s safety and comfort. Depending on your pet’s age and health, a consultation, estimate, pre-anesthetic bloodwork, and/or additional preparation may be required prior to scheduling.

📅 Dental appointments are limited and fill quickly, so we encourage scheduling early to allow plenty of time to prepare for your pet’s procedure.
