People often ask where Woodrow Call came from and why our dogs are the way they are.

What many don’t realize is that our line goes back nearly 40 years here in our barn today and traces back to our imported dog Ted, who was by the famous Wilson’s Spot.

These dogs weren’t bred for trends or color — they were bred for intelligence, grit, balance, stock sense, loyalty, and the ability to live and work alongside people every single day.

Johnny Wilson’s Spot and related Wilson lines were influential working Border Collie lines known for balance, intelligence, and stock sense.

Many modern working Border Collies trace back through famous dogs like Wiston Cap and Old H**p. Our imported dog Ted being by Wilson’s Spot gives our line a direct connection to classic working bloodlines that serious stockdog people recognize.

I thought it would be fun to share a little history behind our dogs, some old stories, photos, and how that foundation eventually led to Woodrow Call and your puppy 🥰
