After Blu left yesterday, there was one little puppy still waiting at the ranch. I leaned down and whispered, “Don’t worry, buddy. Your turn is tomorrow.”

And today, it was.

RRBC Rollo Bear (my nickname will be Roo Bear when he’s feeling extra sweet) packed up his puppy kisses and headed home with his forever family. As if it were written in the story all along, this handsome little red and white boy found himself a redheaded little girl to grow up beside. Some matches just make perfect sense.

The sweetest part… They’re close enough that we’ll get to watch him grow. Around here, we don’t always say goodbye—we just say, “See you later.”

Run fast, love big, and make a little mischief, Roo Bear. May your days be filled with muddy paws, belly laughs, and a little red-haired shadow by your side.

Your turn came today, sweet boy, and it was worth the wait. ❤️

It’s never really about us selling a puppy— it’s about watching two souls find each other.

Pat has been looking for awhile for something very specific. As a dog trainer with working Border Collies of her own, she knows what she’s looking at when she sees it. She wanted the intelligence and trainability Border Collies are famous for, enough versatility for sniff work and stock work, but she was also looking for something that’s becoming harder to find these days—a high powered border collie with an off switch.

A dog that’s just as happy working beside you as he is laying at your feet at the end of the day.

And then there was Blu.

Sweet Blu didn’t need much time to decide he liked his new person. Loved her toys she brought for him 🤣 He leaned right in for the loving as if to say, “Well, there you are. I’ve been waiting for you.”

That’s one of the things we treasure most about our dogs. Yes, they’re intelligent. Yes, they’re athletic. Yes, they’ll work their hearts out for you. But when we’ve done our job right, they’re also your shadow, your companion, and your very best friend.

We don’t believe a Border Collie should have to choose between being a working dog and a loving companion. The best ones are both.

Blu, we think you’ve hit the jackpot, buddy. Sheep, sniff work, dock diving, adventures, and all the love in the world—we’d say that’s a pretty good life.

Congratulations, Pat and Blu. Thank you for trusting us with your next best friend. We can’t wait to see where this journey takes you both. 💙

Sometimes, you just know. ❤️

She did her homework. She read the reviews, explored our website, looked through the puppies, and listened to the stories from families who came before her.

There was no “maybe next week” or “let me think about it.” She called her mom, they jumped in the car, and headed straight to the ranch that same day.

I love seeing people trust that feeling. When you know what you’re looking for and your heart says, “That’s my puppy,” you don’t wait—you go get your best friend.

Some stories just keep getting better with time. ❤️

Back in 2009, Tim welcomed his first Red River Border Collie. In 2011, he came back for another. Now, after driving all the way from New Mexico, he made the trip once again for puppy #3.

When you’ve found dogs that leave paw prints on your heart, the miles don’t seem quite so long.

This handsome little guy will carry the registered name RRBC IronDog—a perfect nod to Tim’s love of the open road and his Harley adventures.

Thank you, Tim, for trusting Red River Border Collies for nearly two decades. We can’t wait to watch the next chapter of your journey together. Safe travels, and welcome to the RRBC family once again, little IronDog! 🐾🏍️❤️
