I would be lying if I said I didn’t wonder sometimes whether this is worth it.
All of the work. The time. The commitment. The heartache.
Often times we are tired, busy, and running on caffeine. Maybe even a little overwhelmed with the busy schedule some days.
But then I sit in the whelping box and see the little lives that I so intentionally brought in to this world, and it becomes clear to me.
They are worth it.
Every tear. Every sleepless night. Every bit of disappointment.
These are someone’s future best friend. And I have the privilege and honor of loving them first and setting them up for success for that transition to their new home. I’m the first impression of humans that these puppies ever know, and I get to make sure they know love from the very moment they take their first breath.

And that and so much more, makes it worth it to me.
