Ever wonder who's actually taking care of your dog at camp? 🐾

We're pulling back the curtain on what it takes to be a CRAM Camp Counselor — the kind of people who stop strangers on the street to pet their dog, know every camper by name, and still have energy for one more belly rub at the end of a long shift.

Spoiler: it takes a very specific kind of person. And we think you'll appreciate knowing a little more about who's on the other side of that gate.

🐾 — let’s talk about your dog’s mental health.

Yes, really. Mental stimulation is just as important as physical exercise — and most dogs don’t get enough of it. A bored dog isn’t a lazy dog. They’re a dog whose brain needs something to do.

Signs your dog might need more mental engagement:
🔹 Destructive behavior at home
🔹 Excessive barking
🔹 Restlessness or pacing
🔹 Getting into things they absolutely know they shouldn’t 😅

Social play, new environments, and interaction with other dogs all count as mental stimulation. Which is basically a description of a Wednesday at camp. 🐶

October is Pit Bull Awareness Month! 🐶💙

These dogs have an unfair reputation that doesn’t match their true, gentle nature. In our latest blog, we explore how that stereotype started, why it’s time to change the narrative, and how Camp Run-A-Mutt proudly supports every dog through individualized temperament testing — never breed restrictions.
