🦎🍂 EXOTIC PET OWNERS: SEASONAL REMINDER! 🍂🦎

As the weather starts to change, it’s important to keep a close eye on your reptile’s health! 🐍🐢 Temperature changes can impact reptiles, so be sure to monitor their eating habits, weight, and any discharge from their eyes or nose. These can be early warning signs of a respiratory infection!

Meet Toilet, the Blue-Tongued Skink! 💙🦎 Toilet came to see us today with clear discharge around his eyes and bubbles coming from his nose. After examining him, Dr. Garretson discovered that Toilet had lost some weight and was dealing with a respiratory infection.

The good news? Toilet is starting injectable antibiotics and should be on the road to recovery soon! 🎉💉 A big thank-you to Dr. Garretson for taking great care of this special guy!

🐾 Exotic pet owners, remember:
✅ Monitor appetite and eating habits.
✅ Keep track of your reptile’s weight.
✅ Watch for eye discharge, nasal discharge, or bubbles around the nose.
✅ Make sure your reptile’s enclosure maintains the proper temperature and humidity for their species.
✅ Contact your veterinarian if you notice any concerning changes.

Reptiles can be very good at hiding signs of illness, so catching changes early can make a big difference! ❤️
