A little friendly competition for Vet Tech Appreciation Week! 🐱🧠💙

We put our team’s trivia knowledge to the test, and let’s just say there were some very confident answers, lots of laughs, and a little bit of chaos 😂

We love getting to take a break from our busy days to have some fun together, especially during a week dedicated to celebrating our amazing team!

It’s Vet Tech Appreciation Week! 🐱💙🐾

We’re celebrating the incredible people who do so much for our patients every single day!

From comforting nervous kitties and assisting with procedures to monitoring anesthesia, collecting samples, giving medications, and everything in between, our technicians put so much knowledge, patience, and love into what they do. 🩺💕

We’re so lucky to have such a dedicated, compassionate, and hardworking team, and we’re excited to spend this week showing them just how appreciated they are!

If one of our amazing techs has made a difference for you or your kitty, we’d love to hear about it! Leave them a little love in the comments or give them an extra thank you when you see them this week. 🫶

Happy Vet Tech Appreciation Week!

Did you know that microchipped cats are about 20 times more likely to be returned to their owners than cats without microchips when they enter animal shelters? 🏡

Even indoor only cats can slip through an open door, escape during a move, or get lost in an emergency. That’s why we recommend microchipping all cats!

So, how does it work? 👀

A microchip is a tiny device, about the size of a grain of rice, placed just beneath the skin between the shoulder blades. It contains a unique identification number that a veterinary clinic or animal shelter can scan to help reunite a lost kitty with their owner.

In this video, we’re placing a microchip while our patient is already under anesthesia for a neuter! 🩺🐾 We love taking advantage of spay/neuter procedures to do this, but your kitty does not need to be sedated to get microchipped!

Although the needle is a little larger than a typical vaccine needle, most cats tolerate it extremely well.

A few important reminders:

🐾 Microchips are permanent identification, NOT GPS trackers.

🐾 They don’t replace a collar and ID tag, but provide an extra layer of protection if those are lost.

🐾 Registration is just as important as implantation! Make sure your kitty’s microchip is registered and your contact information stays up to date.

A few seconds of prevention could make all the difference in bringing your best friend home. 💙🐱

Not sure if your cat is microchipped? Ask us at your next visit! We’d be happy to check. 🫶
