With kitten season in full swing, we often see well meaning people step in to help orphaned kittens. While bottle babies can be incredibly rewarding, they require specialized care and can become sick very quickly without proper support.

If you’ve found a young kitten, one of the most important first steps is scheduling a veterinary exam. Kittens commonly struggle with dehydration, fleas, intestinal parasites, upper respiratory infections, and other health concerns that may not be obvious at first glance.

A few bottle baby basics:

🔥 Keep kittens warm. Young kittens cannot regulate their body temperature and should always be kept appropriately warm. Never feed a cold kitten.

🍼 Use a commercial kitten milk replacer and carefully follow the feeding and mixing instructions provided.

🐱 Feed kittens belly down, never on their back, to help reduce the risk of aspiration.

⚖️ Weigh kittens daily. Consistent weight gain is one of the best indicators that a kitten is thriving.

🚽 Very young kittens need help urinating and defecating and require gentle stimulation after feedings.

🩺 Monitor closely. Lethargy, poor appetite, weight loss, diarrhea, or breathing difficulties should be addressed by a veterinarian promptly

This is only a starting point. Bottle babies require detailed, age specific care, and their needs change quickly as they grow. Your veterinary team can help guide feeding schedules, weight monitoring, parasite control, vaccines, testing, and the next steps for their health and development.

With the right support, these tiny kittens can grow into healthy, thriving cats. We’re here to help you and your bottle baby every step of the way🥰

One of the best parts of working in feline medicine is getting to witness the special bond people share with their cats every day.

Whether they’re lifelong companions, emotional support during difficult times, professional biscuit makers, or simply the reason we smile a little more each day, cats have a way of making themselves an irreplaceable part of our lives.

Today we’re celebrating some of our favorite hugs between cats and the people who love them. Give your feline friend an extra cuddle from us today 🐱💛

We recently celebrated Ori’s Birthday🎉

Please join us in wishing Ori a very happy birthday! She is our social media guru, a very talented technician, and all around wonderful human being. She brings joy, warmth, and compassion to our clinic everyday. A true shining star ✨️to anyone that meets her, human and cat alike. We are so incredibly lucky and thankful to have her as part of our team. Much love and well wishes for the year to come!

Sammy came in for a technician appointment to get his FVRCP vaccine and retroviral test, and he was an absolute superstar for both! 🌟🐾

FVRCP vaccines help protect cats against common contagious diseases, including feline herpesvirus, calicivirus, and panleukopenia.

Retroviral testing allows us to screen for FeLV and FIV, two important feline viruses that can impact a cat’s immune system and long term health. Knowing a cat’s status helps us make informed healthcare recommendations, monitor them appropriately, and take the necessary precautions within the hospital.

Great job, Sammy! 🐱✨

Jupiter came in for his Solensia injection and was such a good boy for his appointment ❤️💉

He barely reacted to the injection at all and was much more focused on accepting pets and listening to us make increasingly ridiculous distraction noises to keep him occupied.

Solensia is a monthly injection used to help manage osteoarthritis pain in cats and improve comfort and mobility over time 💪

Jupiter handled everything wonderfully and made the appointment very easy on all of us 🐱

Our monthly staff meeting will take place on Friday, May 29th, and the clinic will be closed from 12–2 PM during that time.

These meetings allow our team to come together to discuss clinic updates, patient care, training, and ways we can continue improving the experience we provide for both our patients and clients 💙

We will still be available by phone if needed, but please try to schedule calls before or after this time if possible. Thank you for your understanding and support!
