Hey all!
Just wanted to give everyone a life update on us… Jesse and Katlin our currently up at Kansas City in the Children’s Hospital at the nephrology specialty unit. Jesse has been diagnosed with HUS following an e.coli infection that caused initially diarrhea and vomiting. HUS, which is hemolytic uremic syndrome, is a rare complication of an e.coli infection (can be attained from restaurants, unwashed fruits/veggies, raw meat, and farm animal p**p) that causes their blood cells to rupture and become anemic, go into kidney failure, multiple organ failure, and can lead to cardiac disease and seizures. He is currently getting dialysis to try and get his kidneys back functioning and is getting blood transfusions to maintain his cell volume while his body tries to recover. We are trying to keep his heart stable, heal his liver, heal his gastrointestinal tract, and prevent seizures. Little man is doing great with everything and being a champ… just going through lots of ups and downs right now. Just praying that God helps his body to make a full recovery.
While we are away, Bryan and the girls are holding the clinic down.
As expected, rechecks and appointments with Dr. Katlin will be getting rescheduled and may be a bit delayed while we are trying to get our little man back to normal! Dr Bryan is working around the clock to absorb as many appointments as he can and see emergencies. Dr Katlin is still communicating daily multiple times with the clinic and clients to try to keep everything rolling as normal as possible.
A HUGE shout out of thank you from the bottom of our heart to all of our staff, clients, friends, and family for helping us, supporting us, keeping everything stable and running, and being patient with us and rescheduling. Your continued support and understanding means the world to us!
We know God will take care of our little man and get him back to bossing us around the clinic soon !
Much love yall,
The Luarks
