•• Moringa ••
Have you heard of her??? Moringa, AKA, the Miracle Tree is one of the most powerful superfoods in the world. This nutrient dense plant helps support overall health, digestion and natural energy.

The leaves are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, & plant protein!

Enjoy it fresh in teas, curries, green smoothies or tossed in soups and salads
You could also dry then blend it into a powder for longer storage topping anything and everything with it. (ex oatmeal, yogurt, or baked goods)
If you’re thinking about incorporating Moringa into your diet, begin with a small amount to allow your digestion proper time to adjust to this powerful plant.
Do not consume if pregnant.

Available at our tent Alachua County Farmers Market - 441 Market and Haile Farmers Market (Gainesville, FL)

Persimmons, oh, Persimmons….
🔸🟠SUMMERTIME SALE🔸🟠

Hachiya Persimmons are the large astringent-type. They make a pie as good as a pumpkin!
It’s important to wait for this fruit to ripen fully before eating. The texture should be very soft and jelly-like, the taste SWEET! They make an excellent puree for sweetening baked goods, oats, yogurt bowls, smoothies, or marinades! You can freeze the whole fruit or puree ahead of time for storage.

For dehydrating them: you can dehydrate sliced under-ripe Hachiyas and the dehydration process removes any astringency. Or you can make fruit leather with fully ripened persimmons.

Bring your own container for them if you have one available. Saijo (the smaller astringent variety) will be ready in the next few weeks and the Fuyu (non-astringent) comes right after that.

$1 Hachiyas, $20 10lb flats

🍠 Sweet Potato Greens 🍠
While we wait for sweet potatoes to be ready to harvest, what better way to spend the time utilizing the rest of the plant, leaves and all 🌱

Sweet potato greens are a nutritious leafy green packed with vitamins, minerals, polyphenols, and antioxidants like beta-carotene which help reduce oxidative stress and inflammation! They also contain calcium, phosphorus, and iron, supporting bone and blood health.

The leaves have a tender, spinach-like texture with a slightly sweet & earthy flavor.
Lightly steaming or stir-frying these leaves retains their vibrant green color, flavor, and nutrients while they may lose their nutrients if overcooked.
Pairs well with garlic, ginger, chili, butter, etc

Have you tried sweet potato greens before?

We love our CSA because it is a model that helps us farmers get through the off season. We still have plenty of bills (payroll, seeds, repairs, etc) but the heat and humidity make it almost impossible to grow. CSA sign ups in summer allow us to start the fall season strong!

Our CSA members love it because it inspires healthy eating and creativity in the kitchen. You will get some items you’ve never tried before along with staples and lots of nutritious greens.
