⚠️⚠️TRIGGER WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGES OF ANIMAL NEGLECT⚠️⚠️
💔 This is why laws like Beau’s Law matter. 💔
This sweet puppy was brought to Gadsden Veterinary Associates Emergency Care after a Good Samaritan found him with a collar embedded deeply into his neck, with part of a chain still attached.
He has a long road ahead of him. He will need intensive care, daily wound care, antibiotic therapy, pain management, and—perhaps most importantly—time to learn that humans can be trusted.
Today, October 1st, Beau’s Law officially takes effect in Alabama, establishing statewide standards for the care, shelter, and safe tethering of dogs kept outdoors. It requires appropriate food, water, shelter, and humane tethering practices designed to prevent injury and strangulation.
Animal abuse and neglect are serious issues, and cases like this remind us why protecting animals and holding people accountable for their care matters.
We are incredibly blessed to have a donation fund at Gadsden Veterinary Associates Emergency Care that allows us to help babies like this one receive the medical care they desperately need. 🐾❤️ Without the generosity of those who support this fund, helping patients with nowhere else to turn would be much more difficult.
This little guy deserves a chance to heal, feel safe, and learn what it means to be loved. We’re going to do everything we can to give him that chance.
Please use the link below to donate directly to his care. Use his name, Jimmy, in the description so we know who to allocate the donation to!
