Alvin, Biggie (Willow), and Ernesto De La Cruz Clark (a new lesson horse I bought over a month ago that I keep forgetting to introduce!) all got a beauty treatment today! We added tinsel to their hair and jewels to their money makers!

Friendly reminder the next show in The Seven Little Jester Show Series is this Saturday! Venue change, however, to Court Jester Stables! Start time is 9:30. We’ll be starting with our walking division (unlike the leadline, exhibitors will be asked to trot (with a buddy holding a lead rope next to them), post, 2-point, halt)! Then we’ll move into the Hack Division from there!

There will not be ice cream this time so we’re all bringing a little something to share! Right now we have 3 other barns confirmed bringing a few kids each!

It is with great sadness I must share the passing of our beloved Dutch-a-Roonie. After Dutch came home from the Summer Time Fun Horse Show in August we could tell something just wasn’t quite right. While Dutch was always a grump, this time things just felt different. We had the vet out to do a scope, come to find out Dutch had no ulcers and a super clean stomach especially for being 33! Just past his stomach, in his duodenum, however, we found sand. And lots of it (see last picture). While we couldn’t say yes, this is the cause of his extra grumpiness, we could tell that this amount of sand was certainly not helping matters. Unfortunately, before we even got a chance to clear that up Dutch presented with colic yesterday. The vet was called out immediately and what was found during re**al examination was not compatible with life. What you should know is Dutch taught 2 lessons yesterday morning, a jumping, and a walk/trot on the lunge (one of the up-down kinds). He didn’t give any indication anything serious was going on until the little kids were gone. This horse had given me his heart and soul over the last year and half. I quite literally built my lesson program on his back. I could trust anyone and I mean ANYONE to ride him. He was super easy to get along with in the barn, clean in his stall and would show you he loved you by constantly trying to nip at you (ok that was naughty, but it was also “Dutch”). Dutch has quite literally touched the lives of hundreds of people here at CJS and when away at shows still being in the ribbons against the young bucks! The loss of Dutch and the hole he leaves in our hearts and program will never be filled. Thank you Dutch, thank you for the endless hours you toted everyone around the ring safely, thank you for the love bites, thank you for always looking like you lived your best life grazing in the pasture away from all the other horses when they drove you crazy, thank you being a rockstar at shows, thank you for everything. You will be greatly, greatly missed. RIP♥️

We’re hosting another horse show! 9/26 starting at 9 am! Let us know if you have any questions or would like to attend!

We’ve also added a walking division! This will be in hand with an assistant (perfect for those not quite off the lunge line yet!). They will be asked to post, 2-point, and trot with their handler by their side!

We’d like to congratulate Nikolete Michalkow on her purchase of Miss Willow! Nikolete has had a lifelong dream of owning her own horse and we’re so happy to be a part of her story! Congrats, Nik! You deserve it! We couldn’t be happier for you both!

Happiest of Happy Birthday’s to our one and only barn dog, Mya Marie! She takes her job as greeter VERY seriously demanding belly rubs from everyone who visits CJS! And then she licks everyone until they beg her to stop! CJS wouldn’t be the same without you, Mya! 8 looks good on you! 😍🥰🥳

What an absolutely picture perfect day was had today for our home horse show! Everyone from CJS rocked it! And we made a few new friends today when I few other barns decided to show up and join in on the fun! Huge thank you to all who helped prep the barn yesterday and to those that came out early this morning to help with the last minute details! It was a great success and we definitely can’t wait to host more shows in the future!

The ring is set for the horse show tomorrow (8/15)! Ice cream will be here at noon! The weather looks absolutely perfect! Start time is 9:30! Message us with any questions!

We’ve also added a walking division! Different than the leadline, these competitors will be asked to do their posting and 2-point at the walk with an in-hand helper. They will also trot with their helper by their side and do a command style class.

The Fire Department was here yesterday watering the ring for us for the horse show this weekend! They put 2,000 gallons of water on the ring in a matter of minutes! The footing is ready to go and the course will be set tomorrow! Show starts at 9:30! See you on Saturday!
