Oswego County SPCA - OCAWL The Oswego County SPCA (OCAWL) is a non-profit, all volunteer team dedicated to providing shelter and critical veterinary care to animals in crisis.

The organization and volunteers are committed to improving animal welfare in our community. The Oswego County SPCA (Oswego County Animal Welfare League) is an all volunteer, not for profit (501C3), no-kill organization, that does not have a shelter and works directly through foster homes. We pride ourselves on helping the Oswego County communities, as well as other areas, and the animals who live in them.

🐾💕 Meet Noam & Roam! 💕🐾

Same litter. Same loving start. Completely different approaches to life.

Noam is the sweet, fluffy little observer. While everyone else is running around, she's perfectly happy snuggling with the kids, watching the world go by, and soaking up affection. Calm, gentle, and wise beyond her months, Noam is the kind of kitten who makes every room feel a little more peaceful.

Roam, on the other hand, believes life is one giant adventure. Cat tree? Climb it. Blanket moving? Pounce on it. Random object on the floor? Definitely a toy. This happy-go-lucky little guy is always looking for his next game and keeps everyone laughing with his endless kitten antics.

Despite their different personalities, these siblings have something important in common: they're both wonderful with kids, cats, and dogs, and would fit beautifully into almost any family.

Today, we recognize and celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and honors the resilience, strength, and contributions of Black Americans throughout our nation's history.

At the Oswego County SPCA, we believe that strong communities are built on compassion, respect, and the belief that every individual deserves dignity and opportunity. As we continue our mission of helping animals in need, we also recognize the importance of listening, learning, and supporting one another as neighbors.

We hope today offers a chance to reflect on our history, celebrate progress, and recommit ourselves to building a more compassionate future for all.

We've shared a statement about our role in the recent animal cruelty investigation that has been covered by local news.

Some information that was reported was not completely accurate, so we wanted to share the facts about what happened, who was involved, and where the animals are currently being cared for.

We would also like to thank the Fulton Police Department and the Oswego City Animal Shelter for working alongside us during this case. Helping animals in need takes teamwork, and we are grateful for their partnership and dedication.

Housing and caring for this many dogs is no small undertaking. If you would like to help, please consider donating dog food, cleaning supplies, toys, treats, or other needed items to the Oswego City Animal Shelter. Community support makes a huge difference in cases like this and helps ensure these animals receive the care they need while their future is determined.

Most importantly, we're thankful that these animals are now safe and receiving the care they need.

🐾💜 Meet Koala – A Gentle Soul Learning to Feel Safe 💜🐾

Koala came to the Oswego County SPCA from a severe hoarding situation, and while the world can still feel a little scary sometimes, she is making incredible progress every day.

This beautiful girl loves gentle ear scratches, cozy beds, and spending time near the people she trusts. Once she feels safe, she'll lean into your hand, roll over for more pets, and reward you with the sweetest purrs. Recently, she even climbed into her foster's lap while they were cleaning—a huge milestone for a cat who once preferred to stay hidden.

Koala isn't looking for a perfect home. She's looking for a patient one. A family willing to celebrate the little victories, move at her pace, and watch her confidence grow.

And trust us—she's worth every moment. 🩷

🐾🧡 Meet Freesia – A Gentle Soul with a Playful Side 🧡🐾

Freesia came to the Oswego County SPCA from a severe hoarding situation, but despite her difficult past, she has so much love to give.

This sweet girl prefers gentle pets, cozy naps, and spending time near the people she trusts. She isn't a fan of being picked up, but once she feels comfortable, she'll happily curl up beside you, lean into ear scratches, and even roll over for gentle belly rubs.

One of Freesia's favorite things in the world is other cats. She absolutely lights up when she has a feline friend to play with and would love a home where she can continue to enjoy that companionship.

And let's not forget those adorable extra toe beans. 🥰

Freesia is looking for a patient family that will let her build confidence at her own pace and appreciate the quiet, gentle love she has to offer.

🐰💕 Meet Rutabaga (Rootie) – Everybody's Best Friend 💕🐰

If you've ever wished for a bunny who thinks every person she meets is a potential new best friend, we'd like to introduce you to Rootie.

Rutabaga, affectionately known as Rootie, came to the Oswego County SPCA as part of a large hoarding rescue and has embraced her second chance with her whole heart. While some rabbits take their time warming up to people, Rootie is usually busy figuring out how to get closer to them.

This sweet girl loves pets, treats, adventures, and attention. She'll happily climb up the front of her pen when she sees her people and, if given the opportunity, may just crawl right into your lap. Rootie has lived with loud dogs and a toddler and happily accepts affection from anyone willing to give it.

She also loves spending time outside, exploring the world around her, and discovering new things. Every day, she grows a little more confident and a little more comfortable in her surroundings.

And while her adorable little face occasionally makes her look like she's judging the entire room, don't let her resting bunny face fool you—Rootie is one of the friendliest, most affectionate rabbits you'll ever meet. 💜

Some rabbits steal your heart the moment you meet them, and Ivy is definitely one of them.

Ivy came to the Oswego County SPCA as part of a large hoarding rescue and has been quietly blossoming in foster care ever since. While she can be a little shy when meeting new people, she's discovered that treats, gentle pets, and kind humans are pretty wonderful.

This beautiful girl loves spending time outside, exploring her surroundings, and enjoying the fresh air. She's also a superstar when it comes to her litter box, using it about 90% of the time! Ivy has lived in a home with loud dogs and a toddler and does well with both, but she seems to shine brightest when she has a calm, confident person helping her navigate the world.

The best part about Ivy? Every day she gets a little braver.

Watching her learn to trust, grow more confident, and enjoy the simple things in life has been a joy for her foster family. Now she's ready for the next chapter of her journey—a forever home where she can continue to blossom.

🐰🌼 Meet Daisy – Blossoming One Day at a Time 🌼🐰

Some stories remind us just how powerful patience, love, and second chances can be.

Daisy came to the Oswego County SPCA from a severe hoarding situation. When she first arrived in foster care, she was terrified of the world around her and unsure whether people could be trusted. Her foster family wasn't even sure she would ever be comfortable being touched.

Today, Daisy is proving just how far a little kindness can go.

She now enjoys gentle pets, spends time near her people, and has become increasingly comfortable around children, cats, and dogs. While she still appreciates having a quiet place to relax, she also loves exploring tunnels, playing with toys, and discovering that life can be fun.

Daisy is looking for a family that understands that trust takes time. She may not be the bunny who hops into your lap on day one, but every day she gets a little braver, a little more confident, and a little more curious. Watching her continue to bloom has been an incredible journey, and now she's ready to find a forever home of her own.
