🇺🇸🐾 Happy Labor Day from North MS Animal Care & Control Association LLC! 🐾🇺🇸

While many offices are closed for the holiday, our Animal Control officers are still on call today and available to respond when needed. Animal emergencies and public-safety concerns do not take a holiday—and neither does our commitment to the communities and animals we serve.

📞 For animal-control assistance, please contact 911 or your local dispatch so the report can be properly documented and forwarded to the on-call officer.

We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Labor Day! ❤️🤍💙

🐾 Successful Trap in Verona! 🐾

The trap our Animal Control officers set in Verona was successful today! This German Shepherd, whom we had been working to safely catch, entered the trap this afternoon.

Although our officers are only on call during this holiday weekend, we remain available whenever our services are needed. We’re thankful our patience and efforts paid off and that the dog was safely taken into our custody. 🐕💙

⚠️ WARNING: GRAPHIC PHOTOS — VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED ⚠️

This poor boy appeared to have been struck by a vehicle and possibly attacked sometime this morning. He was found wandering around the Car Vista area on the Lee County side, suffering from extremely severe injuries.

Our officers received the call through 911 and responded to help him. He was transported to the shelter, where staff immediately rushed him to a veterinary office for emergency care.

Unfortunately, his injuries were too severe, and he did not make it. 💔🐾

We are grateful to the concerned citizen who called 911, our responding officers, the shelter staff, and the veterinary team who did everything they could to help him.

Please keep your animals safely contained. Situations like this are heartbreaking reminders of the dangers animals face when they are roaming near roadways or encounter other animals.

🐾💙 Meet our little bent-tail pup! 💙🐾

This sweet pup is one of the 15 dogs we have been working to trap in Lee County near Saltillo. Thankfully, this is also one of the last remaining pups in the area.

We truly appreciate the members of the community who reported this situation, continued providing updates, and helped us locate these pups. Your cooperation allowed our officers to get them safely into custody and transported for proper care.

Community involvement makes a difference—and these pups now have a chance at a safer future because people cared enough to speak up. 🐶❤️

🚨 PUBLIC WARNING REGARDING ANIMAL DONATION FUNDRAISERS 🚨

This warning is directed both to the public donating money and to anyone creating fundraisers involving dogs or other animals.

Do not create a donation page for an animal you do not have in your possession while claiming that you are getting the animal or that it needs medical treatment. Do not use an animal’s photograph, condition, or story to collect money unless you are authorized and the information you provide is truthful and verifiable.

Knowingly collecting donations through false statements or misrepresentations may constitute fraud. It does not matter whether the money is collected through Facebook, GoFundMe, Cash App, PayPal, or another platform.

If someone donates because of false information, that person may contact law enforcement, file a report, provide documentation, and request that criminal charges be pursued. The appropriate authorities will determine whether charges are warranted.

Anyone donating should verify:

🐾 Who currently has possession of the animal
🐾 Whether the fundraiser organizer is authorized
🐾 Which veterinary clinic is providing treatment
🐾 Whether money can be paid directly to the clinic
🐾 How every donation will be used

Save screenshots, messages, receipts, payment records, names, dates, and fundraiser links if you believe you have been deceived.

To those creating fundraisers: be truthful, be transparent, and be prepared to account for every dollar collected. Using an animal and a false story to receive money from compassionate people is not rescue—it may be a crime.

Think before you donate. Tell the truth before you fundraise.

🚨🐾 DOG BITE INVESTIGATION — VERONA 🐾🚨

This past weekend, Verona Police officers responded to a dog-bite incident involving a young child. One of their officers took the initial report from the child’s mother and later contacted our Chief to inform Animal Control of the situation.

The child was visiting family members and had been playing between two neighboring family homes. When the child entered one of the homes, a dog attacked and bit the child. The child was transported to the hospital for treatment of the bite wounds, and the mother filed a police report that same day.

After being notified, our Chief and other Animal Control officers spoke with the child’s mother. One of our officers completed a follow-up report and obtained an affidavit for the dog to be taken into custody for the required bite hold.

Citations were also issued to the dog’s owner for failing to comply with applicable state laws and local ordinances.

Dog-bite cases are taken seriously. Proper reports, follow-up investigations, legal documentation, bite-hold procedures, and enforcement actions are necessary to protect the victim and the community. 🐾⚖️🚔

🚨🐾 INJURED DOG PICKUP — LEE COUNTY 🐾🚨

This injured dog was picked up in Lee County this morning. Due to its condition, the call was treated as our first priority.

Our officers responded, safely took the dog into custody, and transported it to the shelter in Tupelo, where it is now receiving care.

When an animal is injured or facing an immediate threat, those calls take priority. We are thankful this dog is now somewhere safe. 🐕❤️

🐾🚨 ANOTHER ONE SAFELY CAUGHT 🚨🐾

Yesterday, we found one more dog safely inside the trap at the same location we have been working. With this latest pickup, our officers have now removed more than 10 dogs from this property.

Our team continues checking the traps and working patiently to make sure every remaining dog is safely secured and transported. Cases like this take time, teamwork, and persistence—but we will keep showing up until the job is complete. 🐶❤️

🐾 Same location as yesterday—and we’re making progress! 🐾

Our officers returned to continue the trapping operation and safely secured another dog. There are just a couple more remaining, and we will continue working patiently to get them all to safety. ❤️🐶

⚠️ Please do not feed the dogs or disturb the traps. Feeding them elsewhere can prevent them from entering the traps and delay our efforts.

Thank you to everyone for allowing our officers the time and space needed to complete this safely. Every dog matters, and we’re not giving up until the job is finished! 💙🐾
