🐾 Tiny Pups Found in Lee County! 🐾

These little ones came crawling out from underneath a house this morning in an area of Lee County where our officers have been trapping several stray dogs.

Thankfully, we were able to get these babies picked up and transported to the shelter this morning. Mom is at the shelter as well, so the whole little family is now accounted for.

This is another example of why we keep working these locations even after several dogs have already been trapped—you never know what may still be hiding underneath a house, building, or nearby property.

🐾 Another Successful Afternoon in Lee County! 🐾

Our officers were back working in an area of Lee County where we have already trapped and removed several dogs, and this afternoon we were able to safely pick up two more pups.

We’re continuing to work this area as reports come in and doing our part to address the ongoing situation. Every successful pickup means two more dogs off the roadway and accounted for.

🐶🐶 These two definitely gave us some sweet faces for the camera!

🐴 UPDATE — HORSE SAFELY CAUGHT IN PLANTERSVILLE!

Good news! Plantersville Animal Control Officers, working alongside the Plantersville Chief of Police, successfully caught the loose horse on Poplar Street this afternoon.

The horse is now being transported to a pasture where it can be properly secured.

This was a great team effort to get the horse caught before it wandered into the roadway or created a dangerous situation for the animal or motorists.

A reminder to livestock owners: the Town of Plantersville has livestock ordinances, and Mississippi law prohibits livestock from roaming at large. Please make sure fences, gates, and enclosures are properly maintained.

🐴 Horse caught and secured — mission accomplished!

Our Animal Control officer responded today after a call came in from a nearby street about dogs roaming in the area. While checking the area, the officer located this mama dog on Elm Street in Plantersville and discovered she had three little babies with her. ❤️🐶

Mama and all three of her puppies were picked up together and transported to the Tupelo-Lee Humane Society, where they were turned over to the shelter's care.

What started as a call about roaming dogs led us to this entire little family. Thank you to the person who reported the roaming dogs and helped bring them to our attention.

🐾🚨 BUSY WEEK AHEAD FOR LEE COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL! 🚨🐾

It’s been another busy day for North MS Animal Care & Control Association, with another pickup this afternoon — and we already have tomorrow lined up and ready to go!

From the looks of things, it’s going to be a very busy week, but we’re proud of the team we have out there getting the job done.

Our officers continue answering calls, handling pickups, transporting animals, completing paperwork, following up on reports, and taking care of the many responsibilities that come with Animal Control. There’s a lot of work that happens behind the scenes that the public doesn’t always get to see.

We appreciate our entire team for continuing to step up, work together, and serve the citizens and animals of Lee County.

🚨 Remember, Animal Control calls in Lee County should be reported through 911/Lee County dispatch so the call can be properly documented and an officer dispatched.
