🍂 All Eloise wants for the holidays is a place to call home. 🧡🐾

And maybe someone who appreciates a REALLY enthusiastic hello. 😂

Meet Eloise! This beautiful girl is currently available for adoption through Humane Society of Wicomico Co. , and she’s been putting in the work to become the very best version of herself!

Eloise has been working hard on her manners, building a solid foundation of obedience, and learning that not every greeting needs to be a full-blown celebration. But don’t let that fool you, this girl LOVES people, and she’s never been one to hide her excitement about making a new friend.

She’s got a big personality, an even bigger heart, and plenty of love to give. She’s also proof that a little structure, consistency, and patience can go a long way.

Eloise doesn’t need to be perfect to deserve a home. She just needs someone willing to keep building on all the progress she’s already made.

🍁 This holiday season, we’d love nothing more than to see Eloise celebrating with a family of her own.

Every year, pets become separated from their families, and their owners may be searching everywhere to bring them home. 🩵 Knowing what to do when you find a lost pet can make a huge difference in getting them safely reunited with the people who love them.

We put together this quick guide to help our Wicomico County community know what to do if they come across a stray pet.

Happily busy being a bottle baby mama, duh 🙃.

Now some thoughts from my dog trainer brain 👇🏻

Bottle babies need more than food and warmth as they age, they also need to learn how to be dogs. Without mom and littermates teaching boundaries, frustration tolerance, bite inhibition, and appropriate social behavior, it’s easy to accidentally raise a puppy who struggles later.

The goal can’t be to make up for their rough start by giving them unlimited attention. As they grow, introduce age-appropriate independence, handling, novel surfaces and sounds, short periods of separation, crate time, and SAFE interaction with stable adult dogs.

Let them experience tiny, manageable amounts of frustration instead of immediately fixing everything for them. Bottle babies can become incredibly well-adjusted dogs, but the biggest gift you can give them is confidence and coping skills, NOT dependence on a human for every need.
