Usually at a shelter, small dogs are the first to find homes, so even a short stay is all we could hope for. Yet our only 2 small dogs, 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗼 and 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿, are still waiting with no applications.

Thankfully, both are enjoying the comfort of loving foster homes while they search for their forever families. If you or someone you know has been hoping to add a small pup to your life, either of these sweet boys would love to meet you!

Both are 𝗱𝗼𝗴, 𝗰𝗮𝘁, and 𝗸𝗶𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆!

Thank you so much FOX 13 News for taking the time to come out to our shelter and highlight the wonderful things being done by people supporting animals in need.

We never can say it enough, we are SO GRATEFUL to Ruff Runners Run Club for choosing to support our shelter, and to every visitor who spends time with our animals. That company and connection is such a vital part of what we do and allows each animal to feel safe, loved, and seen throughout their journey here.

𝗔𝗖𝗘
• Energetic, playful, would love an active home.
• Tends to resource guard around other dogs at home but can be friendly with dogs he meets on walks, hikes, and outings.

𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗗𝗢𝗪
• Know tricks and incredibly friendly.
• Currently working on improving some hu***ng behaviors.

𝗞𝗔𝗭𝗢𝗢
• More reserved and timid.
• Would do best in a calmer home without young children.
• Has done well with other dogs in our playgroups.

𝗟𝗜𝗟 𝗕𝗨𝗗
• Talkative and energetic.
• Does best when crated while home alone.
• Friendly with other confident, playful dogs.

𝗝𝗔𝗖𝗞
• 🔺Urgently seeking rescue placement as shelter life is taking a toll on him.
• Previous adoptions have not worked out due to severe separation anxiety, but he is a dream dog when his people are home.
• Great with kids and does well with some dogs.

We will have kittens in the class for hands-on demonstration and practice.

In this class, we’ll cover kitten development, common medical concerns, feeding and care routines, our foster program, available resources, and what to do in emergencies.

𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿 is a classic Chihuahua mix who, at 7 years old, is simply looking for someone to relax and enjoy life with.

Like many Chihuahuas, 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿 appreciates a little time to warm up and make sure he feels safe. Once he does, he’ll be climbing right into your lap.

Don’t let his age fool you — 𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿 still has plenty of energy! He loves playing fetch, running through the grass, and going for walks. After he’s had his fun, he’s more than happy to curl up beside you on the couch and enjoy a quiet afternoon.

𝗢𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿 gets along well with other 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀, 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻, but he’d also be perfectly content as the only pet in the home so he can soak up all the love and one-on-one attention.

When you see a kitty wearing a sombrero, the last thing you’d imagine is that he was once lost outdoors and arrived at the shelter with a 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 after getting his arm trapped between a non-breakaway collar. ❤️‍🩹 By the time he was found, the injury had become infested with bugs. He was in rough shape and needed immediate medical care, but despite everything he endured, he remains one of the most loving, outgoing cats you’ll ever meet.

This is 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 — and thanks to a wonderful sponsor, his adoption fee is completely 𝗪𝗔𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗗! 🙏🏼✨⭐️

After daily treatment and lots of love, 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 has been healing beautifully. He wears a cone when unattended to prevent licking, but he rarely bothers the area anymore when supervised. Once his skin has fully recovered, he’ll be back to being a perfectly normal kitty.

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 has already overcome so much and something we don’t quite understand is how, after a month at our shelter, someone still hasn’t chose him 😔 He is 𝗦𝗢 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 and 𝗦𝗢 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹. We estimate him to be around 5 years old. He is litter box trained, very food motivated and does great traveling in a carrier.

Our team will provide a medical counsel to explain his treatment so far and what to expect during the remainder of his recovery. Please don’t hesitate to stop by and say hello to 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵! 🩵
