It is with mixed emotions that I write this post today. After an incredible 5 years of walking dogs, I bid farewell to this wonderful chapter in my life today.
In January, I started having issues with my left knee to the point that it was very difficult at times to get around without being in constant pain. I saw an orthopedic in March and after having an x-ray it was determined that I had “walked away” all the cartilage down to bone on bone in my left knee. My right knee is not as bad, but it does have pretty significant damage as well. The doctor did an injection in my knee which has helped tremendously and has me currently doing 12 weeks of physical therapy two times per week. Once the 12 weeks is up, he will re-evaluate to determine if the physical therapy and injection has helped and if not, he will consider doing a total knee replacement. Per the doctor’s orders I had to make the very difficult decision to give up something near and dear to my heart and that is dog walking. I will still be doing drop in visits, doggy day care & boarding.
First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each of my clients who trusted me with the well-being of your precious four-legged friends and welcomed me into their homes. The joy, loyalty, and unconditional love they brought into my life will forever hold a special place in my heart. It has been an honor and privilege to be a part of your extended family. Your support, generosity, kindness, and friendship have been truly remarkable. I will always cherish the bonds we formed, and I hope the trust you placed in me was well rewarded.
To all my four-legged fur friends I have had the pleasure of walking, playing with and showering with belly rubs, thank you for brightening my days. The memories we shared on our walks, to the silly antics and wagging tails, will be cherished forever. Each of you has left pawprints on my soul.
While this goodbye brings sadness, it also opens up new possibilities. I am already writing my next chapter and will be announcing what I will be doing in the near future so keep an eye out this fall for my exciting announcement.
To Blaise, Moose, Bonnie, Bellini, Logan, Noah & Reacher thanks for the all the memories. Although, I’ll miss our walks and talks each day. I’m excited about the adventures ahead. Here’s to new beginnings!
