It's fall, y'all! Last week's weather felt so nice, and the cloud cover and moisture on Buffalo and the Ten Mile Range resembled the stunning beauty that you find in our sister mountains back east, the Smoky Mountains of the Appalachians.

Each season of 2026 has brought about big changes and milestones for Dog Days: our first employee, a fresh face with actual branding and a logo from Cindy | Brand, Illustration, and Font Designer, and our busiest months since opening three years ago.

We're excited to see what Q4 holds and we're so excited to have some of the best people and pets of Summit County in our pack! 🥰

Dog Days values the ethics of Leave No Trace, so a few weeks ago, we partnered with FDRD to sponsor a Poo Pickup Day at our local Salt Lick trailhead. As the snow melts, no one wants to step in dog p**p as they're hiking, so over a dozen people came out to be good stewards of the trails and pick up OVER 70 LBS (and 30 lbs of trash) of dog p**p that had accumulated over the winter!

We've all been there: you forget a p**p bag, your dog has a surprise second (or third!) p**p and you only prepared for one, or you're distracted by how beautiful our trails are that you just didn't see your dog excusing themselves to the nearest tree. We get it.

So, if you'd like to come help clean up the trails we all know & love, your next opportunity will come next Saturday, April 25th, from 9A - 12P! FDRD will provide gloves, buckets, etc. and Dog Days will bring a cooler of drinks and a handwashing station.

A few weeks ago, a tree fell across the main trail and my long lines have been snagging on the branches while out on hikes. Almost like magic, gave us these awesome saws last week as our Christmas present, so I pulled it out of the pack this afternoon and Murphy and I did some on-the-fly trail maintenance. It's hoppable now, and there are plenty of new sticks in the area! 😃

WARNING : Leaving your pup in the care of DDoS may result in you coming home to a cartoon reindeer, a punk rocker, a baby walrus snacking on ice, or a snoring ball of fluff instead of a doggo. 😂 Hanging out with Marty was truly a highlight of the weekend!

Oct 22 must be a lucky day for doggos because it gave us THREE Dog Days pups: Murphy, Winston, & a new addition to the DDoS pack, Miss Holly. 😍

I hope each of these sweet pups had the best day ever, and Murphy & Winston will have to have a delayed celebration together once Winston is back in town! 🤩

It's fall, y'all! We've had so much fun these past few weeks of summer with the pups & kitties of Summit County. There's been playing fetch, rolling in the sunshine, using clover as a snuffle mat, making new doggo friends, swimming in the creeks, and chasing birds on sticks. But today is the last farmer's market, and Melly weather is slowly creeping up on us.

As we prepare for the change of seasons, I'm going to take some time to visit family and attend my first ever pet care conference, . It's focused on scaling a pet care business. Hiring is daunting, but with a 3:1 dog to human ratio in CO, I'm hoping to bring on the first few DDOS team members in the coming months. 🤞
