Little things like this add up.
With a young horse, I’m not just looking for them to get through an exercise — I want them to learn how to listen, adjust, and stay with me when things change.
She’s still learning in her training, but every ride is another opportunity to build better habits, more confidence, and a horse that understands what’s being asked of her.
That foundation is what we’ll continue building on as she progresses.

First steps matter.

This was this filly’s first introduction to tracking the sled and beginning to understand the position we’re asking for. The goal isn’t to rush the process — it’s to build understanding, confidence, and a willing attitude that can carry over into the real world.

Every horse is different, and every session has a purpose.

Been getting a whole lot of rain around here lately, so the riding and filming have been put on hold for a little bit.
Doesn’t mean we’ve slowed down though. Still taking care of the horses and getting everything ready to get back at it as soon as the ground cooperates.
Appreciate everybody following along and keeping up with Piña Performance Horses. We’ll have some more horse progress coming as soon as we can get back in the saddle! 🤠🐴
Rain can slow us down, but it ain’t stopping us. 💪

Another one I'm proud of.
This 3-year-old has only been with me for about a month and a half, and it's been rewarding watching her confidence and willingness continue to grow. She's still got plenty of room to develop, but we're building a solid foundation and taking it one step at a time.
This is the kind of work I enjoy—taking a horse where they're at and helping them become better from there.

Every ride has a purpose.
Today's session focused on asking this gelding to handle a little more pressure while staying soft, balanced, and responsive. We also introduced more rope work to continue building his confidence and prepare him for the next step in his training.
Good horses aren't built in a day—they're built through consistent work, patience, and repetition.
