[Scholarship Pet Adoption #146]

A Rosie Ending 🐾💛

Rosie came to us at just 4 months old after her previous family realized that this purebred AKC Lab was simply too much puppy for their home. She had energy to spare—and she needed a family who could keep up!

About the same time, a family was searching for their next family member. They were a total Lab family who knew how to talk the talk and, more importantly, knew that the energy Rosie had was exactly what had been missing from their home.

And look at her now. 🥹

Rosie has a huge farm to run, human siblings who can keep up with her, and a family who understands exactly what makes a Lab a Lab. And recently, she took her very first trip to the beach! 🌊🐾

From a puppy who was simply “too active” for one home to a dog living her absolute best life in the perfect home—this is exactly why the Scholarship Pet Program matters.

Thank you for supporting Scholarship Pets. Your generosity helps give dogs like Rosie the opportunity to find the people, place, and life they were meant for.

Without you, stories like this wouldn't have such a Rosie ending. 💕🐾

Sometimes loving a dog means making the hardest decision.

Meet Rosie, a 4-month-old AKC-registered Black Lab puppy with endless love, endless energy, and a whole lot of life ahead of her. 🖤🐾

Rosie's family adores her, but they realized they couldn't give this sweet, active girl the exercise and lifestyle she needs to truly thrive. Their hearts are already heavy after recently losing their beloved dog, who was a familiar face at the Center day care. We saw firsthand how difficult this decision was. They chose what was best for Rosie, even though it broke their hearts.

Although the Scholarship program is currently full, Rosie wiggled in.

Before going to her forever home, Rosie will be spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.

We're hoping to find her an active, loving family within 20 miles of the center, ideally someone in our community so we can continue to watch this beautiful girl grow.

Please share—her perfect family may be just one share away. ❤️

Six years.

That's how long sweet Ellie has been part of our Friendsville family.

She first came to Friendsville when she was just 8 weeks old, and for nearly six years she has visited us two or three times every single week. Many of our clients know Ellie instantly—always perfectly coiffed, always beautiful, and always ready to brighten everyone's day.

Two weeks ago, she didn't come.

That wasn't like her family, so we knew something had to be wrong. Then we received the call none of us wanted.

While chasing a frisbee that was rolling across the ground, Ellie suffered a spinal cord stroke.

Her mom recognized immediately that something was terribly wrong and rushed her for emergency care. After seeing specialists in Chattanooga and having an MRI, they learned that although Ellie still has sensation in her toes, she cannot walk.

Since then, her mom and dad have completely rearranged their lives. They've moved downstairs and have been having nightly "slumber parties" with Ellie, taking turns throughout the night to lift her outside and support her with a special device so she can go potty. They are doing everything humanly possible to give their girl every chance to recover.

Shelley and Sergio stopped by for a visit because Ellie needed to see some familiar faces. Shelley also spent time teaching Ellie's mom how to groom her for her special needs and while she's lying down so she can continue looking and feeling like the beautiful girl we've all come to know.

Ellie isn't just a client. She's family.

If you've ever met this sweet girl, we're asking you to join us in sending every prayer, every positive thought, and every ounce of hope her way. We are squeezing our eyes shut and believing with all our hearts that this remarkable girl has a full recovery ahead of her.

Come on, Ellie. We all believe in you. ❤️🐾

🎆 4th of July Pet Safety Reminders

Fireworks may be fun for us, but they’re often terrifying for our furry friends. Here are a few simple ways to keep your pets safe and comfortable tonight:

✅ Double-check collars & ID tags:
Make sure your pet’s collar is secure and that their tag has up-to-date contact info. In case they bolt from fear, this greatly increases the chance of a safe return home.

🎶 Play soothing music or white noise:
Drown out the loud booms with a radio, TV, or calming playlist. The extra noise helps mask fireworks sounds.

🖤 Create a dark, cozy space:
Keep pets indoors in a quiet, dark room with their favorite bed or blanket. Close curtains to block out flashing lights.

💊 Use prescribed medication if needed:
If your vet has prescribed medication for anxiety, give it as directed before fireworks start.

🐾 Most importantly, stay calm yourself—your pet will take their cues from you. Wishing you and your pets a safe and stress-free 4th of July! 🐶🐱
