Community Update

The Zoo’s Tropical Rainforest Aviary will be closing to the public on Sunday, July 5th. Since its 1988 opening, the exhibit has served as a celebration of flight that immerses visitors in a rainforest experience.

Over time, the space has become outdated and no longer supports the Zoo’s standards for welfare. The Rainforest birds will be relocated to other aviaries within the Zoo or will find new homes at other institutions. The Rainforest has been a large part of the Zoo’s history and guest’s experiences and will reopen at a later date as a non-animal experience.
