APH was established in the mid 1970's as a low cost spay and neuter hospital by Dr. Francis Testoni. His early mission was to provide lower prices for common veterinary procedures in a professional environment. The practice expanded its surgical services with the addition of Richard Holm in 1989. Dr. Holm became sole owner of Abby Pet Hospital in 2004. We have grown much larger since then and moved to our current location in 2009 where we now have 8 doctors to provide the quality care Fresno knows us for. And we continue to grow! We have recently started to see exotics such as reptiles, small mammals and pocket pets.

Team Member Spotlight: Meet Alayna! ⭐️

This week, we’re excited to introduce Alayna, one of our dedicated Veterinary Assistants here at Abby Pet Hospital!

Alayna joined our team 10 months ago after spending a few years working in animal shelters, and she’s currently working toward becoming a veterinary technician with about a year and a half left in school.

Her favorite part about working at Abby Pet Hospital? The amazing team.

“My coworkers make the day go by a lot quicker.” 🐶🐱

She also loves how supportive the hospital is, making it easy to learn, grow, and jump in wherever help is needed. Whether she’s caring for patients or expanding her knowledge, Alayna brings compassion and a positive attitude to everything she does.

We’re so grateful to have you on our team, Alayna! Thank you for all that you do for our patients, their families, and the Abby Pet Hospital family 💚

Keeping your pet protected starts with prevention. ❤️🐾

A simple blood draw for a heartworm test can help detect this serious disease early, even before your pet shows signs of illness. Routine testing is an important part of keeping dogs healthy and ensuring their heartworm prevention is working as it should.

At Abby Pet Hospital, we’re here to help your furry family stay happy, healthy, and protected every step of the way.

Not every injury is visible at first glance, but for pets experiencing fractures, luxations (joint dislocations), or soft tissue injuries, timely care can make all the difference.

This sweet yellow Lab is resting comfortably and waiting for surgery after suffering fractures of both the tibia and fibula. While moments like these can be stressful for pets and their families, our veterinary team is here to provide advanced care every step of the way.
Our veterinarians perform orthopedic procedures to help treat fractures, joint injuries, and other musculoskeletal conditions with the goal of restoring comfort, function, and quality of life.
If your pet is showing signs of limping, pain, swelling, or difficulty walking, don’t ignore it, early evaluation can be important.

❤️ Healing starts with compassionate care.

Spaying and neutering are some of the most important decisions you can make for your pet’s long term health and well being.

These routine procedures offer lifelong benefits, from helping prevent certain diseases and cancers to reducing unwanted behaviors. They also play an important role in helping control the stray pet population and giving more animals the chance to find loving homes.

Every pet is unique, and the best timing for a spay or neuter procedure depends on factors such as age, breed, and overall health. Our veterinarians are here to answer your questions and help you determine the right plan for your furry family member.
