Animal Compassion Team of California (ACT)

Animal Compassion Team of California (ACT) ACT is a non-profit, dog and cat rescue, dedicated to helping the animals in Fresno County. Having said that, why would we choose to dive in deeper?

The vision for ACT has been brewing in the minds of the Animal Compassion Team founders for many years. The paths we have walked have prepared us and tested our determination through hard work, buckets of tears, mountains of f***l matter (a favorite topic of discussion amongst animal rescuers), and more then our fair share of discouragement and heartbreak. For the love of the animals we serve. It

is just that simple. Dogs, cats, and other wonderful animals are dying in huge numbers daily. We hope to help change that. We moved beyond the discussion phase and filed the paperwork necessary to become a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation with the state of California and the Federal Government. It is a huge leap of faith for all of us who already feel overwhelmed by the work we are doing but we believe this is the time....this is what we have all been preparing for. One life saved makes all the effort and emotional investment worthwhile. This is going to be an exciting journey and we hope to post MANY happy endings on this blog. The animals are already arriving......stay tuned .....we have only just begun!

🩸❤️ SAVE A LIFE & FIND A BEST FRIEND! ❤️🐾

Join Animal Compassion Team this Saturday, June 13, from 10 AM – 2 PM at the River Park PetSmart Blood Drive! We’ll be set up inside the Ashley Furniture Building with some amazing adoptable dogs and cats who are ready to find their forever homes.

As a special thank you, anyone who donates blood at the event will receive $25 OFF an adoption fee that day! Your blood donation can help save lives, and your adoption can change a homeless pet's life forever.

Come meet your new best friend, support a great cause, and help make a difference for both people and pets. We can't wait to see you there!

This little girl came into the world with a wild start — found and trapped — with her feral mom and 2 siblings, from one of the many feral colonies located within Fresno.
Foxy’s underbody is luscious white fur with a stylish overcoat of black and tan tabby stripes, from her eyes to her tail.

Foxy is the boldest of her litter. She inherited her mom's cautious spirit, but she's been busy rewriting that story. She'll zoom after anything that dares to move — a piece of string, a rustling bag, your wiggling fingers. And the laser dot? Don't even get her started. She and that little red dot have unfinished business. When the crazies finally wind down, she'll find her favorite person and curl up for a well-deserved snuggle nap.

Foxy would thrive in a patient, gentle home where she can set the pace. Experienced cat owners, who understand the behaviors of shy cats are a better fit for reserved cats like Foxy. Older children and even other cats or dogs would be fine companions, as long as they give her the space to come to them as her courage allows. (While young toddlers might be too unpredictable and scary for her.)
She says, “If you can be patient and nurture my courage, I am betting that getting to see my personality bloom with each passing day, will make you amazed that I am the same kitty that you adopted from the shelter.” Unconditional Love is transformative.❤️

Hurray for Violet! She is now in her furever home. Mom is a previous ACT adopter. She wasn’t looking to add a new member to her family but when she saw Violet, she said out loud “that’s my puppy!” From work, she called ACT, she submitted an application, got a call back from ACT, came right after work and adopted her. 👏🏼. Her other fur baby, Dill, now has a companion. Best of all, Mom has two fur babies to love and spoil. Congratulations 🎉

Hurray for Granbull! He has just become the newest member of this family. They are previous ACT adopters. After the loss of two beautiful fur members, it was time to open their home to another beautiful pup. As mom was walking out to her car, she said “You have no idea how happy you made us”. I said “Yes, I do”. Congratulations 🎉
