Animal Compassion Team of California (ACT) ACT is a non-profit, dog and cat rescue, dedicated to helping the animals in Fresno County. Having said that, why would we choose to dive in deeper?

The vision for ACT has been brewing in the minds of the Animal Compassion Team founders for many years. The paths we have walked have prepared us and tested our determination through hard work, buckets of tears, mountains of f***l matter (a favorite topic of discussion amongst animal rescuers), and more then our fair share of discouragement and heartbreak. For the love of the animals we serve. It is just that simple. Dogs, cats, and other wonderful animals are dying in huge numbers daily. We hope to help change that. We moved beyond the discussion phase and filed the paperwork necessary to become a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation with the state of California and the Federal Government. It is a huge leap of faith for all of us who already feel overwhelmed by the work we are doing but we believe this is the time....this is what we have all been preparing for. One life saved makes all the effort and emotional investment worthwhile. This is going to be an exciting journey and we hope to post MANY happy endings on this blog. The animals are already arriving......stay tuned .....we have only just begun!

It's day 3 of our 4-day fundraiser at Lazy Dog, Fresno. The promotion is all day and just tell your server that you are part of the ACT fundraiser. For take-out orders, use code 01Fresno. Also, don't forget about their awesome patio, dog friendly so bring your pup, just like I did earlier in the week

Our feline friends would like to remind everyone that CATS GET HUNGRY TOO! And they are not about to be left off the donation list!

Apparently, word has gotten around the cat community here at ACT that the dogs might be getting all the attention when it comes to food donations… and let's just say, the claws are coming out!

That’s a wrap on the 7th Annual ACT Golf Tournament! 🏌️‍♂️🐾
The books are officially closed on an absolutely perfect day at the beautiful Belmont Country Club. We couldn't have asked for better weather, delicious food and drinks, fantastic golfers, and—the real stars of the show—our adorable, adoptable pups! 🐶❤️
The day was a total hole-in-one, and we heard so many players say they already can’t wait for next year.

We are absolutely bursting with joy, gratitude, and maybe a few happy tears today! 🐾❤️
Please join us in giving the biggest shout-out to two of our most dedicated volunteers and previous adopters Ron & Kim. As volunteers, they already give so much of their hearts, time, and energy to make sure our rescue pups feel loved. But today, they took their commitment to a whole new level... they are adopting THREE ACT dogs Allie, Poppy and Pip!🏡🐶🐶🐶
What makes this beautiful story even more special is that two of these lucky gals are sweet senior dogs. 👵🏼👴🏼🐾
Senior dogs are often overlooked in shelters, but Ron & Kim knew exactly what these older souls needed: a soft place to land, a calm couch to nap on, and a lifetime of gentle love. By adopting a trio—including two golden oldies—they are giving these dogs the ultimate happily-ever-after.
thank you both for showing everyone what true rescue love looks like. We will miss seeing these three around ACT, but we couldn't be happier knowing they are safe in your arms.
