Dear clients,

Earlier this year, rising fuel costs forced us to introduce a temporary fuel surcharge. When conditions allowed, we discontinued it because we never want to pass along additional costs unless absolutely necessary.

Unfortunately, gasoline prices have risen sharply again. When we made our original announcement in March, regular gasoline in Fresno averaged approximately $5.16 per gallon. Today, it is approximately $5.98 per gallon—nearly 16% higher than it was then.

Because our mobile grooming service depends entirely on traveling safely to each client’s home, these continuing fuel costs directly affect our ability to serve our community.

Therefore, beginning Monday, September 21, we will reinstate the 25% temporary fuel surcharge on our mileage charge. It will appear as a separate line item on your invoice and will not increase the price of your pet’s grooming services.

We understand that no one welcomes an additional charge, and we did not make this decision lightly. We will continue monitoring fuel prices and will remove the surcharge again as soon as conditions reasonably allow.

Hello,

Your dog’s safety is our highest priority, as well as the safety of our groomers.

Unfortunately, the extreme heat is putting too much strain on the air conditioning in our mobile grooming salon, making it too hot to safely groom dogs. Because dogs are especially sensitive to high temperatures, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule all appointments originally scheduled from tomorrow through Thursday, August 13.

Thank you for your understanding. We will contact you as soon as possible to arrange a new appointment when the temperatures are safer and more comfortable for everyone.

When we individually informed each client of our intention to increase mileage fees starting March 8th, some read without replying, others responded OK, others said they fully understood, and still others said they had done the same thing in managing their own businesses. Since that day, 270 clients have been served, and we have had no cancellations related to this increase. Today, our gas supplier, while not exactly back to pre-crisis prices, is offering us reasonable rates, meaning we no longer need to charge our clients extra mileage fees. Thank you all for your understanding and solidarity during this period, and let’s hope this return to near-normal is not just temporary.

Hello—one of our clients, who already owns three dogs, is offering this adorable little boy to a loving family. He wandered onto her property and has no microchip, collar, or tattoo. He is delightful with people—including children—and with other dogs, and he behaved exceptionally well during his grooming session. A veterinary appointment is scheduled for the week of April 6th. Judging by his muzzle, coat, and small stature, it appears this little cutie is a Pug-Brussels Griffon mix.
