Just now settled back at our hotel after a whirlwind of a day at the 2026 ASDCA Club National Specialty.

Hercules behaved like he was raised in a barn… which is true. He was graciously awarded the Best Male Working Dog and Best Opp Working Dog by our judge Ms. Cheri Hollenbeck. Big THANK YOU to our judge and to Diana Martinez for being the show chair and making our adorable Anatolian lantern prize!

If you’re near Santa Rosa, you still have Saturday and Sunday mornings to come see 25+ Anatolian Shepherd Dogs in one place! We’d love to see you here :)

Occasionally, we board puppies we have bred. These two beautiful girls spent the summer with us while their humans had some tough stuff to navigate. They are headed home now, and we are so glad we got to spend time with them. It’s great seeing how our pups turn out, and we love helping our clients with an alternative to kennel boarding for their Anatolians.

Meet our fabulous fall five! Demir and Daisy have a beautiful litter, and here’s a little peak into their early neurological stimulation exercises. They are 7 days old, and this is their fifth ENS round. This is done daily from day 3-16 to prepare their little brains for the cycle of stress/recovery throughout their lives.

So the Kunekune pigs root?

Real talk: they can! I have gotten the pigs to root up a patch of bull thistle by soaking the ground all around them. The pigs worked to turn the soil and they ate the thistle plants and the deep root system. The thistles didn’t come back.

If you feed them enough, (whether that is pasture, fodder, hay, grain, etc) the Kunekunes don’t root up your pasture. Our pastures are not irrigated, and they are sparse, but green in September after a hot summer. The pigs are still pulling nutritional value from our land, and they are chunky and happy!

We have a limited number of pet/meat grow outs ready to go! Contact us for more details.
