Oscar is another one of those cats who might not show you his whole personality the second you meet him. In fact, your first impression might be that he’s pretty shy and would rather keep to himself. Give him some time though, because that is definitely not the full Oscar experience.

Once Oscar decides you’re alright, the shy guy starts disappearing and the real Oscar comes out. He is sweet, playful, sassy and just opinionated enough to keep things interesting. He LOVES a good chin scratch and once you’ve earned his trust, he has absolutely no problem letting you know when he would like some attention. He may even resort to a little playful bullying if he feels like you’re not getting the message fast enough.

Oscar is the kind of cat who needs a little time to settle into new situations and get comfortable with new people. He isn’t going to walk into a new home and immediately act like he owns the place. But with some patience and a chance to adjust at his own pace, you get to see just how loving and entertaining this handsome tuxedo boy really is.

He would prefer to be the only cat in his home, which honestly might be just fine with him. He has plenty of personality to fill the position all by himself. He’s looking for someone who can give him the time he needs in the beginning and appreciate all of the sweetness, sass and ridiculousness that comes afterward.

Coco has been waiting for someone to see past the nerves and give her the chance she deserves. ❤️

At just 1 year old and about 25 pounds, Coco is still figuring out this whole big world thing. And if we’re being fair… she thinks a lot of it is pretty scary. Coco is shy when she first meets you. Like, really shy. She isn’t going to be the dog running up to greet you or immediately climbing into your lap. She needs time to watch, figure you out and decide that everything is okay.

But underneath all of that hesitation is a dog who really does love people. Once Coco feels safe, you start seeing more and more of the sweet little dog hiding underneath. She wants attention, she wants affection and she wants to be close to her people—sometimes she just isn’t quite sure how to get herself there yet. Coco also gets along well with other dogs and cats, and having another confident animal around may even help show her that life isn’t quite as intimidating as she thinks it is.

What Coco needs most is a gentle, patient person who isn’t going to rush her. Someone willing to celebrate the little things with her—the first time she approaches on her own, confidently explores somewhere new, or realizes she doesn’t need to be quite so worried anymore. She needs someone willing to guide her, build her confidence and show her that the world really can be a pretty good place.

Sadie is a year and a half old Shepherd/Pit mix who came to us through no fault of her own. She can be stubborn sometimes, but she is also incredibly smart and already knows her basic commands. Sadie is the kind of dog who will keep you on your toes, but she is also very willing to learn when you give her something to focus on.

She can have a little stranger danger when meeting new people. She may be unsure at first, but she usually gets over it pretty quickly and before long, she is making friends and showing you what a sweet girl she really is.

Sadie is dog friendly, but a meet and greet will still be required with any potential adopters. Cats are not a good fit for her because they are just way too much fun to chase.

Sadie would do best with someone who can be patient with her when she first meets them, while also giving her the structure and direction she needs. She is smart, sweet and has a lot of potential. She just needs someone willing to give her a chance. 🐾

🐾 Wag N Wear will have brand new doggie accessories, including over-the-collar bandanas, bow ties, daisies, doggie jackets, and more. If your pup needs a little extra style for fall, this is definitely a booth you’ll want to stop by!

🕯️ Kristi’s Candles will have 100% soy candles that burn for approximately 60–70 hours and come in pleasantly scented options for everyone to enjoy. They’ll also have car diffusers and scented salts that can be used in your wax melter, so you can take those favorite scents with you wherever you go!

🐦 Three Little Birds designs and creates unique pieces of jewelry using only quality materials. If you’re looking for something a little different and handmade, be sure to check out their selection!

✨ Tammy’s Trendy Crafts brings plenty of sparkle to brighten your day! You’ll find driftwood suncatchers, wooden and window suncatchers, rearview mirror charms, purse charms, bracelets, and plenty more handmade goodies.

🎨 Creative Keepsakes by Mary LLC creates handcrafted sculptures, keepsakes, and decorative art using a mix of 3D printing, hand-painting, sewing, laser engraving, jewelry making, and mixed-media techniques. Her creations range from illuminated lithophanes that turn your photos into glowing 3D portraits, to laser-engraved décor featuring wildlife, nature scenes, inspirational quotes, and rustic cabin-style artwork. 🌸 Bridget’s Bags & More will be bringing a little bit of everything, including fall wreaths, large tote bags, beaded bookmarks, beaded key rings, reusable cloth gift bags, plastic canvas beaded suncatchers, plastic canvas fidget spinners, paper flowers, tissue pack covers, and more!

Pickles has been here since December 2025, so she has decided that if she can’t have a home yet, she might as well take over the front desk.

She has made herself completely comfortable on the counter, in volunteer bags and pretty much anywhere else she can fit her chunky little body. To Pickles, personal belongings are apparently just extra-soft cat beds waiting to be claimed.

She may be sassy and full of opinions, but Pickles is also incredibly sweet and has no problem showing her softer side when she wants attention. She is playful, entertaining and more than ready to trade in her front desk position for a forever home of her own.

Until then, she will continue supervising the staff, reorganizing the volunteers’ belongings and reminding everyone that this is, in fact, her shelter. 🐾

❤️ Harry Could Use a Few Angels in His Corner ❤️

Meet Harry. He’s 10 years old, a Chihuahua mix, and quite possibly one of the sweetest little guys you could ever meet. Harry came to us through no fault of his own, and as we started getting to know him, we quickly realized there was more going on with this little senior than met the eye. Harry has a heart murmur, heart disease, and some very bad teeth. He has already had bloodwork and x-rays done and will be starting medication for his heart.

His dental health is also something we’ll need to keep a close eye on. There is a possibility that Harry will need a dental in the future, not only to address the condition of his teeth, but to help preserve the teeth he has left and keep his mouth as healthy and comfortable as possible. We don’t know exactly what the future will hold for Harry’s medical care yet, but we do know that he’s going to need some extra attention and care along the way.

And through all of this, Harry is just... Harry. ❤️ He is an exceptionally sweet boy who loves everyone he meets. He loves going on adventures in the car and is happiest when he can curl up on a comfy lap and just be close to someone. He has no idea that his heart isn't working quite the way it should or that his teeth need some extra attention. He just knows that he loves people, loves car rides, and thinks a good lap is pretty much the best place in the world.

That’s why we’re reaching out for some angel funds for Harry. We want to make sure we can take care of the things his little body needs without having to think twice about whether we can afford to say yes to the care he needs. At 10 years old, Harry has already had enough changes in his life. He deserves to spend this next chapter being comfortable, loved, and cared for.

If you would like to be one of Harry’s angels, any donation toward his medical care would mean so much to us. And if donating isn’t possible, sharing Harry’s story is just as appreciated. We’re hoping there are a few people out there who will see this sweet little guy and want to help us make sure he gets everything he needs. ❤️🐾

Buddy’s heartworm treatment update! 💙

Buddy is doing amazing and has been handling his kennel rest like an absolute champ. He definitely hasn’t had to go through it alone, either. His favorite people have been stopping in to sit with him, keep him company and make sure he has plenty of good snacks. Based on how many treats he has eaten, we’re pretty sure Buddy has met — and possibly exceeded — his snack quota.

He is now on the home stretch of his heartworm treatment and has just a few more weeks of rest to go. During this time, potential adopters are welcome to visit with him. He just needs to remain in a calm environment and continue taking it easy while he finishes healing.

Buddy is a 6-year-old, 100-pound Shepherd who is neutered and truly such a good boy. Unfortunately, he ended up here through no fault of his own, and he deserves to have someone waiting for him when his treatment is complete. He has been working so hard, and we can’t wait for him to finally get the fresh start he deserves. 🐾

Dena is the kind of dog who walks into a room and immediately wants to know everybody in it. She is a 2-year-old, 45-pound hound mix who is social, happy and always ready to spend time with people.

She has plenty of energy, but Dena isn’t just running around with nowhere to put it. She is incredibly smart, driven and eager to please, which makes her excited to learn and work with you. Give her something to focus on and she is ready to give it her best effort.

Dena would do well with someone who enjoys an active dog and is willing to keep her busy both physically and mentally. She has the personality, the brains and the enthusiasm to become an amazing companion. She just needs somebody who will help her put all of those qualities to good use. 🐾

Langstraat Crafts will be bringing a mix of handmade items including pyrography, beaded jewelry and paracord bracelets. If you like unique, handcrafted pieces, make sure to check them out!

Audrey is bringing A LOT to shop from! Her booth will have keychains, T-shirts, coasters, wind spinners, pens, 3D printed items, earrings, cups, night lights, cutting boards, air fresheners and more. This is definitely one of those booths where you’ll need to look around so you don’t miss anything.

⭐ Twinkle Gold Star
Twinkle Gold Star has quite the variety too! They’ll have dog accessories, embroidered clothing, bird houses, bird feeders, phone holders and more. They’ll even have waffles and authentic Belgian cookies, so you can do a little shopping AND grab yourself something good to eat while you’re at it.

💎 Renovate Designs
Renovate Designs creates beautiful handmade, hypoallergenic jewelry using Swarovski and Czech crystals, natural stones and pearls. They also give new life to denim by turning it into purses, shopping bags and water bottle holder bags, finished with unique fabrics and details.

🌭🍋🍩 FOOD VENDOR SPOTLIGHT! 🍩🍋🌭

Let’s talk about one of the most important parts of any event… THE FOOD! 😋 We have some seriously good options joining us at our Craft & Vendor Market on September 12th, so come hungry!

🍋 The Sippin Station
The Sippin Station is a small, family-owned business serving up fresh squeezed lemonade, dirty sodas, energy drinks, and sweet tea! Whether you need something refreshing while you shop or just want to try something new, they’ll have you covered. 🍋🥤

🧀 Mac-N-Sliders
If you love comfort food, you’re definitely going to want to stop by Mac-N-Sliders! They’ll be serving up slow smoked pulled pork mac, buffalo chicken mac, slow smoked pulled pork sandwiches, BBQ chicken sandwiches, buffalo chicken sandwiches, potato salad, and coleslaw. Basically, come hungry because there’s a little bit of everything! 🤤

They serve up different signature dogs that bring together street-style flavors and American classics, along with some great combos. They’ll also have nachos on the menu, whether you’re feeling bold and spicy or just want to keep it simple with cheese. Either way, they’ve got you covered! 🌭🔥🧀

So yes… you can come shop, support local vendors, and leave with a full stomach. Sounds like a pretty good Saturday to us! 😉
