Welcome Sasha!!!

With those magnificent satellite-dish ears, We're guessing Sasha heard us opening the treat jar before her Mom even parked the car. And that stunning tri-color coat? Clearly, she couldn't decide which color made her look best, so she just decided to rock all three. We're thrilled to have such a stylish and aerodynamic patient today!

πŸ•·οΈ TICK SEASON IS HERE AND LYME DISEASE RISK IS GROWING IN MICHIGAN 🐾

As the weather warms up and we spend more time outdoors with our pets, it’s important to remember that blacklegged ticks (also known as deer ticks) are active in Michigan from March through November and are commonly found in wooded and brushy areas.

The Michigan Department of Health recently updated the 2026 Michigan Lyme Disease Risk Map, showing that many counties across the state now have known or potential risk for Lyme disease exposure.

Lyme disease can affect both people and pets, and prevention is key:
βœ”οΈ Use veterinarian-approved flea and tick prevention year-round
βœ”οΈ Check yourself and your pets for ticks after being outdoors
βœ”οΈ Keep grass and brush trimmed around your home
βœ”οΈ Remove ticks promptly and safely
βœ”οΈ Contact your veterinarian if your pet develops symptoms like lethargy, limping, fever, swollen joints, or loss of appetite

While not every tick carries Lyme disease, awareness and prevention can make a huge difference for your family and furry friends.

You can learn more about Lyme disease prevention at Michigan.gov/Lyme
Stay safe and enjoy the outdoors responsibly this season! 🌿🐢🐱

🐾 8 Ways to Celebrate National Rescue Dog Day!

You can make a lasting impact on a rescue dog's life todayβ€”and every day! Here are some fantastic ways to get involved and celebrate:

πŸ“Έ Share Your Story: Post a sweet photo of your rescue pup using . Tell the world what makes your dog so amazing to encourage others to adopt!

🎾 Spoil Your Dog: Give your furry friend some extra VIP treatment today. Take them on a long, sniff-heavy walk, grab their favorite treat, bring home a new toy, or just soak up some extra cuddle time.

🏑 Adopt a Best Friend: Save a life and gain a loyal companion by adopting from your local shelter or a rescue group.

πŸ›‹οΈ Foster a Pup in Need: Open your home temporarily. Fostering helps dogs decompress away from the noisy shelter, socialize, and recover from medical issues. Plus, it’s a perfect way to test the waters before making a lifelong commitment!

🎁 Donate Supplies or Funds: Look up your local shelter’s wish list! Facilities are almost always in need of blankets, leashes, toys, and treats. Want to go bigger? Host a bake sale or car wash and donate the profits.

🀝 Volunteer Your Time: Head to your local shelter to lend a helping hand. Walking, grooming, and simply petting the dogs greatly improves their socialization and chances of getting adopted.

🩺 Spay and Neuter: Be a responsible pet parent. Preventing overpopulation is the single most effective way to keep dogs out of shelters in the first place.

πŸ’‘ Educate the Next Generation: Teach children the value of empathy, unconditional love, and how to responsibly care for animals.
