R e s t I n P e a c e
sweet spunky Bagheera. I've put off this post because it hurts my heart too much to write about her. However a dog like Bagheera deserves to be remembered for the 6 months she was on this earth. I miss my dog, I miss her being over the top excited to see me, I miss her playing with the kids in the yard and knocking over the little one because she just can't contain herself, I miss brushing her long gorgeous ears, I miss rubbing her chest and belly, I miss her wanting her paws held, I miss her sweet eyes looking up at me while her chin is resting on my knee. I miss her company on car rides. To me Bagheera is unmatched and losing her from not only my program but from our family stings tremendously. She had so much more life left to live and that was ripped from her. Bagheera was a vivid example of what I strive for and I will consider myself either lucky or very blesssed if another dog comes close to Bagheera for me. Her sweet young innocents and her zest for life are what keep leading me back to tears and heartache. All she wanted was her family. Now she's buried in our back yard. The only peace I have is that everything is for a reason and God has a plan even when it's not the ideal plan we envisioned. I am at least thankful I was able to kiss her goodbye and tell her she's a good girl. I sure hope our favorite dogs are in heaven because I couldn't imagine it without them. Bagheera was the start of something better here at Pinewood Poodles, I have her aunt that will have to carry on Bagheera's short lived legacy. The support you've all showed since I brought her home has been amazing. She seems to have been a fan favorite, I'll still be forever fan girling over this amazing dog I was fortunate enough to have loved for her short life.

Edit to add because everyone is asking. She passed from an accident, nothing genetic related. I didn't share these details in the post originally because it's tragic and I wanted to focus on Bagheera but to clear the air I'll share.

She was acting super lethargic and was vommiting a ton, I took her to a good emergency vet where they did a bunch of diagnostic testing and IV fluids. It was determined that she had an obstruction from a foreign object. Before surgery could be done she got really bad really quick and needed to be put down because she was suffering and at the point of no return.

Ever seen a pure standard poodle that looks like a bernedoodle? Well now you have! Prosper is the newest addition to Pinewood Poodles and he's going to bring in a new unexpected twist that I am pumped to witness! Standard poodles are the most amazing dog breed I've come across because they are soo versatile and make excellent family dogs. You really can't go wrong with a well-bred standard poodle. Not to mention they are considered a "hypo-allergenic" breed and come in a multitude of size ranges. We breed standard poodles in the 45-75lb range. Life with a poodle is never dull, they just add class and character with a little bit of clowny to every room. For some time now I've thought it would be spectacular to have a standard poodle with bernedoodle markings. it's been something on the back burner of my mind because I hadn't yet seen that pattern in a pure standard poodle. Leading me to believe it doesn't exist. That was until Prosper. I had high hopes for the litter he came from, the anticipation was high & I remember being in the grocery store as his breeder was texting me photos of the puppies being born. I had no plans to get a puppy, I was just purely excited for the litter because the parents are superb dogs. But when I saw Prosper I was in awe and I have continued to be in awe of him. The interesting thing about Prosper is that he is ssp (parti carrier, is not parti) but shows a good semetrical portion of white on his chest, paws and forehead. I've seen this in parti poodles labeled as tuxedo but I have yet to see/meet another with these markings being a parti carrier only. My hope is through the years to add in higher intensity to the phantom points and to also include brown. Not everyone loves the look of a clean face on a standard poodle, personally I love it but I think Propser will be a good bridge for those of you who love a "doodle face" and aesthetics but enjoys the characteristics of a standard poodle. He pulls off the look! Propser is a vital key to Pinewood Poodles, color isn't everything but thankfully he has the ground work for good structure, he's confident & social and he'll be tested to CHIC standards! Welcome our guy below in the comments!

K I N G D O M
This royalty name theme has been the most fitting to each individual puppy. The name Kingdom has strength to it and this standard poodle boy falls nothing short of that. Not necassarily physical strength entirely but rather he reminds me of his dad, smart, obedient, confident in himself with a desire to love. What I mean by that is he is confident enough that he has a certain independence but is so loving. He can be independant but he enjoys the presence of his owner as a leader rather than needing that role filled for lack of confidence. There is something special about a dog that has the physical strength & size to overpower yet is genetically, inherently staid & composed. He is going to be an absolute sweetheart lover of a dog & it makes me so proud to watch him grow in himself and into his name, Kingdom. D M me to inquire!

What an amazing experience this l i t t e r of standard poodles has been so far. Since day one as newborn puppies they've been by my side day & night for car rides, bed side & couch cuddling. The kids have loved naming, holding, nurturing and feeding these little precious angels & it's exciting because the fun has just begun. Soon they will get to play outside, splash in the kiddie pool & chase the kids around. At 4 w e e k s old the royalty litter has experienced two grooming sessions. The first grooming experience was at 2 weeks old, they got their faces shaved. Next was just recently, they all got baths, following with the high velocity dog dryer then face & f***y shaving.
We've introduced a litter pan system that is working excellently as well as a crate exposure tactic that should help them feel calm and confident when they start more rigorous crate training.
I am truly blessed to call T H I S my passion & hobby & I thank every one of you who like, comment, follow and support!

Takheera is T H E O G D O G of Pinewood Poodles. She started this thing and she gave me a name in the breeding world. Without her I wouldn't be where I am today. I saw Takheera posted and originally I had sent her photo to a breeder friend of mine, I didn't feel I needed to add. Then things took a turn when at 17 I found out I was pregnant with my first daughter. I was going to be a mom. Suddenly I needed a plan. Naturally I was concerned for the future but God always has a plan and so he led me back to Takheera. After a high dollar and a drive to the Mississippi Gulf Coast Takheera became my girl. When it came time to breed her I brought her to a brown phantom s t u d who from his photos appeared to be a nice dog but in person was not my cup of tea. I searched and searched and searched for another s t u d until I came across Sarge. He checked my boxes! She had her first litter July 2021. Takheera had 8 amazing dark brown merles and 1 solid brown boy. That amount of merle puppies in a litter is not common and on top of that brown merle had not been seen much at the time. I had soo many messages and inquiries it would blow your mind. The whole litter found families with ease and I even got a waitlist built up right away after that. The jump to get Takheera was a success and I had my first daughter September 2021. I remember the last 2 months of pregnancy I did my puppy chores routinely. So when my daughter was born the day after coming home from the hospital I strapped her in her carrier and she'd fall asleep while I did the same puppy chores because the rythem was familiar to her. Takheera is special & will ALWAYS have my heart. God just lined everything up so perfectly and I have no doubt that was his hand at work helping me create a future. Dogs are my passion and to be able to also provide for my family with them is nothing short of a blessing. There is controversy on the subject of making a living b r e e d i n g dogs. I have zero shame in it and I am proud of what I've built. My dogs are my world and the immense amount of happiness, joy, love and dedication that is sorounded in my whole program is all the fuel I need to continue doing what I do!
