Time completely slipped by today but this is for you Comanche🤎 Happy “gotcha day” goofball 🥰
(this is a long read)
Yesterday, August 23rd, officially mark A YEAR into having you home🫶🏽 You came to me as an unhandled 4-5 year old stud when my childhood horse passed away with absolutely no trace of where you came from & still no answers about you to this day, so with that being said before I start this letter to you:
Thank you God for sending me my dream horse & my soul horse all in one, you truly out did yourself on him. Amen 🙏🏽
My letter to you, Comanche:
I’ve never owned a stud in my life & my grandpa always had the horses dog broke by the time I was thrown on their backs. So when I told Popo “I bought a stud & I need you to tell me the steps on how to train him to ride” he looked at me like I was crazy but, after a little begging he finally caved & told me the steps on halter training you (I don’t think he thought I’d be able to pull it off since studs don’t usually like to listen to women) but after 3 days of sitting with you for hours during the day & falling asleep on the round bales as you ate around me we built a bond. You let me love on you & once you got that good ole belly scratch, winning you over was easy peasy 😂 I got that halter on you, took you to pasture to graze, & Popo? Well, he was in disbelief & insisted I geld you before he tells me what to do next in our training because as he says “that horse is going to kill you the second you get on him” but, little does he know YouTube has all the training videos I could ask for 😂 besides, I can honestly say with the way you resource guard me around anything & everything new, the way you greet me at the gate every time I go out to the barn, come to me when I call your name, doze off in my arms while I scratch your cheeks, & give me hugs with your big ole head when I cry into your shoulder after an overwhelming day, our bond is unbreakable & the foundation we’ve built is so solid that I believe in my soul Popo is wrong. You may throw me off, you may rear & try to throw yourself back, hell I may even get stepped on if I don’t get out the way fast enough, but I know you’d never do anything to intentionally hurt me, if that was the case.. I think I would’ve been in the hospital a long time ago. You’re only doing it because it’s new & scary, it’s not your fault no one taught you when you were a young c**t.
They say you get 3 horses in your lifetime..
1. The horse that teaches you everything
2. The horse that allows you to learn & grow
3. The horse you get to teach everything to
I’m so thankful you’re the horse I get to experience this journey with & teach everything to. I can’t wait to go on a trail ride & rodeos together! Thank you for being the most amazing first stud I could ever ask for & own Comanche. I wouldn’t change our training pace one bit, more & more everyday you’re turning into a true gentleman on the ground. Those mares won’t know what hit em when they see you walking into the arena 🤎
