June is National Microchip Month, and there's no better time to ensure your pet has a permanent form of identification.
Every year, thousands of pets become lost or separated from their families. While collars and tags are important, they can fall off or become unreadable. A microchip provides a safe, reliable, and permanent way to help reunite lost pets with their owners.

A microchip is a tiny device, about the size of a grain of rice, that is placed just under your pet's skin. The procedure is quick, safe, and similar to a routine vaccination. If your pet is ever found and brought to a veterinary clinic or animal shelter, the microchip can be scanned to access your contact information and help bring your pet home.

Benefits of Microchipping:
- Permanent identification that cannot be lost or removed
-Quick and simple procedure
- Increases the chances of being reunited with a lost pet
-Provides peace of mind for pet owners
- Works for both dogs and cats

Already have your pet microchipped? Don't forget to verify that your contact information is up to date with the microchip registry. An outdated phone number or address can make it difficult to reunite you with your pet.

Celebrate National Microchip Month by taking this simple step to protect your furry family member. Contact our clinic today to schedule a microchip appointment or to have your pet's microchip checked and registered.

Your pet is part of your family—help ensure they always find their way home.

We’d also like to officially introduce our newest veterinarian, Dr. Stephen Teitelbaum!

Dr. Teitelbaum joined our team as our second veterinarian a few months ago, but many of you may already recognize him from his time working around the clinic as a veterinary technician.

A little about Dr. Teitelbaum: he graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College and is a dedicated animal lover. He also has a dog named Otis, who can often be found at the clinic each day greeting clients and enjoying plenty of attention!

We invite you to schedule an appointment with Dr. Teitelbaum today. He is excited to meet you and your pets, provide exceptional care, and, of course, share a few treats along the way! We look forward to seeing you soon.

We want to remind all of our pet parents to please check your pet’s rabies vaccination status 🐾

Over the past few months, there have been numerous reports across New Jersey of rabid raccoons coming into contact with dogs and other animals—often leading to dangerous fights and potential exposure.

Rabies is a serious and fatal disease, but it is 100% preventable with proper vaccination. Keeping your pet up to date not only protects them, but also your family and our community.

Attached is the link to the last reported attack: https://nj1015.com/new-jersey-rabies-alerts/

✔️ Dogs, cats, and ferrets should always be current on their rabies vaccines
✔️ Avoid leaving pets unattended outdoors, especially at night
✔️ Do not approach or allow pets near wildlife, even if they seem friendly or injured
✔️ Contact us immediately if your pet has a possible wildlife encounter

Not sure if your pet is up to date? Give us a call—we’re happy to check your records and get them protected if needed.

Stay safe and keep those tails wagging 💙

Burlington and Union county health officials have issued a rabies alert after two raccoons that got into fights with dogs, tested positive for the disease.
