Adoptable Clark, seen here proving how ready he is for family life, has been enjoying some time out of the kennel at the house of one of our volunteers!

Clark is a 30-pound pit mix with the sweetest soul. He loves people and is happiest when he’s getting attention and affection. He also loves other dogs! He can be a little unsure of himself at first, which is completely understandable given his past, but once he realizes he’s safe, his sweet personality starts to shine.

We think Clark would really benefit from having another confident, friendly dog in his forever home. A canine companion could help him build his confidence and show him the ropes as he adjusts to his new life.

Clark is looking for someone who will give him a little patience while he settles in and help him discover just how wonderful being a dog can be. In return, you’ll get a gentle, loving, goofy boy who is so ready for his person.

The number of dogs we can rescue is directly connected to how many volunteers we have helping in our kennel. If you can give just two hours a week, on whatever day works best for your schedule, you can make a real difference.
All you need to do to get started volunteering with us is attend a new volunteer orientation at our kennel in Freehold! The next new volunteer orientation is this Sunday, 10/11, at 11 am.

There are some “perks” to being one of the longest residents of our kennel, as shown here by adoptable Millie. She is the favorite to many, but where’s her forever family!?

PUPDATE: Remember Gracie?

We rescued Gracie with her longtime K9 BFF, Cooper, in 2025. She and Cooper, a gentle 13-year-old beagle, spent their entire lives side by side, providing each other with love, comfort, and companionship. Sadly, Cooper crossed the rainbow bridge shortly after we rescued them 💔🌈🐾.

Not long after Gracie had to say goodbye to Cooper, Gracie’s angels found her. In July of 2025, a wonderful young couple with a heart for senior dogs saw her story and knew she belonged with them.

Fast forward to today, Gracie is living the doggy-dream! This senior gal has a new lust for life, constantly playing fetch and playing with her K9 sister, Everlee.

Thank you to Gracie’s forever family for loving her!
