A classic red barn. A wide-open horizon. A life built around horses. šŸ

For this private barn in Sheridan, Wyoming, Morton Buildings, Inc. and Classic Equine Equipment brought together timeless character with thoughtful design and lasting performance.

Morton’s Hi-Rib Steel, Foundation System, and Alumasteel Sliding Doors provide durability, while turkey tails and cupolas give the barn its distinctive Western character.

Dutch doors accented with white crossbucks complete the traditional appeal. Behind the beautiful finish is the added safety and durability of fully-welded, 14-gauge steel construction from Classic Equine Equipment.

A beautiful barn should be more than a dream. It should be built to safely stand the test of time.

šŸ‚ Fall is a great time to inspect your pastures and gates. šŸ‚

Safety Tip: Clear rocks, leaves, and built-up dirt from beneath the gate’s swing path to help prevent it from becoming stuck when snow and ice arrive.

Classic pasture gates are custom designed for strength, safety, and durability in all weather conditions. Mesh or grill fills helps prevent horses from getting caught in the gate, while rails and crossbucks add timeless visual appeal.

Pasture gates from Classic Equine Equipment are the perfect complement to your facility. Learn more about pasture gates in the comments below.

šŸ“šŸ” Does your horse chew on their stall?

Stall chewing can wear down teeth and create sharp or damaged surfaces that may contribute to mouth injuries. Wooden surfaces can also splinter over time, creating additional safety concerns.

Metal chew guards provide a durable barrier between your horse and the stall surface, helping protect against excessive wear and potential mouth injuries while maintaining the clean, finished look of your barn.

Safety starts with giving your horse enough room to move.

Large breeds, such as draft horses, need additional space to safely lie down, get back up, and turn around. A 12' x 14' or 14' x 14' stall provides the room they need to move comfortably while helping reduce the risk of your horse becoming cast or sustaining an injury.

When it comes to stall design, the right dimensions aren’t just about comfort—they’re an important part of creating a safer environment for your horse.

Choose the right stall size for your horse.

Cooler weather is on the way. While it’s a welcome relief from the summer humidity, now is a good time to start preparing your barn for coming chill.

Durable, properly functioning barn-end doors help keep horses safe and barn chores efficient throughout the colder months. Classic barn-end doors are constructed from fully welded 14-gauge steel for lasting durability. Our secure sliding-door guide helps keep the door safely in place, even on windy days.

To protect the beauty of the doors, we’ve engineered a raised ridge in the bottom channel along with integral weep holes to allow water to drain, minimizing wood warp and discoloration.

šŸ‚ As the fall colors settle in, we’re reminded of this beautiful private barn nestled in Vermont’s Green Mountains—Winterfell Farm.

It was a pleasure to work alongside the owner and builder to bring such an elegant vision to life, creating a safe and peaceful retreat for both horses and their owners. Fully-welded Low European hinged-door stalls provide security and durability, while the grill-top partitions maximize visibility and socializing between neighboring horses.

You can almost imagine the scent of the fallen leaves in the crisp Vermont air. See this beautiful project in the first comment.

Safety extends beyond the barn—it starts with the rider. šŸ“ā›‘ļø

In honor of Helmet Safety Awareness Week, we’re reminding riders that wearing a properly fitted, protective riding helmet is an essential part of equestrian safety.

Our commitment to safety goes beyond the stall equipment we build. It includes the people who ride, care for, and work around horses every day.

Ride smart. Wear your helmet. Make safety part of every ride.
