Meet Ziva, our newest 2-Week Board & Train! 🐾

Ziva is a Shiba Inu who is just under a year old, but we’re pretty sure this little girl is broken. 🤪 She is seriously the calmest, sweetest, and most easygoing Shiba—none of the typical Shiba traits we all know and love to dread! 😅

Her mom mentioned that we trained her sister’s four Shibas a few months ago, and apparently they were quite the handful. It looks like Trainer Katie may have gotten lucky with this one! 👀

Ziva will be spending the next two weeks with Trainer Katie, and we can’t wait to watch her progress!

Board and Train Luigi took his training to the streets of downtown Fredericksburg! 🐾🏙️

With people, traffic, new sounds, and plenty of interesting sights all around him, Luigi practiced holding a solid “sit” and keeping his attention focused. Training in a busy environment helps turn commands learned at home into reliable obedience wherever life takes him.

🐾 Welcome to Board and Train, Maximus! 🐾

This sweet 5-month-old Goldendoodle/Husky mix is joining Trainer Abby for the next two weeks! He’s bringing plenty of puppy excitement, a good foundation of obedience, and a few habits we’ll be working on together. 💙

Maximus’s family wants help with jumping on people, leash manners, and those everyday puppy behaviors. He also needs a little confidence boost as he learns to navigate the world!

Over the next two weeks, Abby will focus on building his confidence, strengthening his obedience, and helping him channel that excitement into calmer greetings and more enjoyable walks. There’s plenty of personality here, and our goal is to help Maximus become the well-mannered family companion his owners are working toward. 🐕🎓

Meet Hutch, our newest Board and Train pup! 🐾🎉 This 2-year-old English Staffy LOVES to play, and now he’s adding some focused training to his daily adventures!

Hutch already knows some basics, but staying tuned in when distractions show up is a little more challenging. He also occasionally barks and lunges on walks, so he’ll spend the next two weeks with Trainer Colby working on focus, leash manners, and calmer responses to the world around him. 🐕🚶‍♂️

We’re excited to get to know this playful boy and help him put those basics to work beyond the training room. Welcome to the crew, Hutch! 💪🐾

Sunshine, waterfront views, and a little temptation for Board and Train pup Nellie! ☀️🌊🐾

Nellie is practicing her commands out near the water, where the scenery comes with plenty of distractions. Every outing is a chance to work on listening and focus in a different environment.

Board and Train Yeti is working on the down command while out and about! With new sights, sounds, and shoppers nearby, a store visit gives him a chance to practice his skills beyond the familiar training environment.

Board and Train Bandit is working on his place command with Trainer Colby! This exercise teaches him to head to a designated spot and stay there until released, building impulse control and practicing how to settle.

From dinner time to visitors at the door, “place” is a skill with plenty of everyday uses. It all starts with practice on the cot! Keep putting in the work, Bandit! 💪🐶

Meet Yeti, our newest Board and Train pup! 🐾

This 5-month-old Golden Retriever is spending the next two weeks with Trainer Colby working on biting and nipping, leash pulling, and his puppy manners. We’ll also address resource guarding, which recently led to a bite on his owner’s hand when he wouldn’t give up a piece of mulch.

Yeti loves people, and we’re excited to help him build better habits and learn to safely give up items. Follow along with his progress! 💛
