Hey folks!
I’m finally getting close to being able to drive and walk more. One thing I can tell you for sure—never have surgery on both sides of your foot at the same time. The recovery is no joke!
Meanwhile, we’re getting ready for OFA testing on Poppy and Penny. Poppy still needs her annual eye exam, so once that’s done she’ll be fully health tested. Penny had her eyes done last year and will need them repeated in August, so we’ll likely do those at a dog show, possibly Doswell.
Once everything is completed, we’ll have four girls to choose from for this year’s breeding plans. Bailey and Candy have already come into season, so exciting things are on the horizon!
I can’t promise colors, but I can promise what matters most—wonderful temperaments. My dogs are first and foremost companions, and that has always been my priority.
I already have several families on my waiting list. I’ve also sent application emails that never received a response, so if you’re interested in one of our late summer or fall litters, please send me a message or email me at [email protected]
I only accept five deposits per planned litter, and those are handled through a deposit contract. Until pregnancies are confirmed, I cannot accept additional deposits. Typically, I do not take commitments until puppies are around five weeks old, and most are spoken for within just a few days.
As always, health testing information is available on my website, and if you can’t find something, I’m happy to provide documentation by email. As an AKC Breeder of Merit, currently submitting for Bronze recognition, keeping health testing current and documented is a requirement—not an option.
When researching breeders, ask to see health testing and puppy evaluations. Good breeders should be happy to provide them. Health testing, temperament evaluations, and proving dogs in performance, companion, or conformation events all help ensure the best possible future for our puppies and their families.
Miniature American Shepherds and Aussies make incredible family companions. They are intelligent, loyal, eager to learn, and thrive when they have a job to do. They can excel in service work, therapy work, sports, and active family life—but they are not the right fit for every household. Their intelligence and drive require engagement and training.
If you’re ready for puppy pictures, stay tuned—we should finally have some to share soon!
In the meantime, here’s Poppy enjoying her morning nap. 💤
