Weezer has BIG news… he found his forever home last night! 💙🐾

Our little rockstar is officially off the market and headed into the best future. He’ll have older pup siblings to show him the ropes, and incredibly experienced parents who already adore him and are ready to guide him through every adventure life has waiting. This boy has so many good things ahead — the kind of life every foster dreams of.

And here’s the part I need you to hear: social media helped make this happen.
Every comment, every share, every “oh my gosh look at him,” every little interaction… it mattered. It helped him be seen. It helped his people find him.

So if you ever wonder whether your engagement makes a difference, I’m here to tell you it absolutely does. You helped Weezer get home.

Weezer Weekend Update:
I know so many people have been waiting for this… and somehow, the news is that Weezer is still searching for his person.

He showed up this weekend with his whole little heart. He greeted every stranger like they were already family. He wagged until his whole body wiggled. He cuddled anyone who paused long enough. He entertained himself like the sweetest, silliest little soul. He stayed calm in the chaos. And yes — he even dropped the perfect SPLOOT, like he knew it was his big moment.

He did everything right.

But the truth is… he wasn’t what those particular people were looking for. Too young. A male. Not a small breed. And I had to smile and nod and say I understood, even though inside it stung. Because how do you look at this perfect little dude — this gentle, joyful, wholehearted puppy — and tell me he isn’t “enough”?

Here’s what I hold onto: Weezer doesn’t need to change to fit someone else’s checklist. I wouldn’t change a single thing about him even if I could. His person will see him. Really see him. And when they do, it will make sense why every “not quite” had to happen first.

So we keep showing up. We keep believing. And we keep looking for the one who’s been looking for him, too.

They are more common than you think — and my foster girl Valerie Velociraptor is the perfect example of how much a little support can change a cat’s entire future.

Rodent ulcers (which have nothing to do with rodents) are part of the eosinophilic granuloma complex — an inflammatory condition where a cat’s immune system overreacts. They usually show up as swollen, red, sometimes ulcerated patches on the lip. Most of the time they aren’t painful, and they’re often triggered by things like:
- Food allergies
- Flea allergies
- Environmental allergens
- General immune system sensitivity

They’re not contagious, they’re treatable, and they’re far more common than people realize.

But Valerie’s case… was something else entirely.

3 weeks ago, Valerie was running out of options. She’d been at HQ for a long stretch, and her ulcers weren’t improving. Our vet partners said they were the worst they’d ever seen. And while rodent ulcers themselves typically aren’t painful, Valerie had developed a severe secondary bacterial infection that left her in constant discomfort. She’s only a year old — far too young to be facing conversations about whether she could still have any quality of life.

Y’all know I’m a bleeding heart.

So Valerie Velociraptor came home with me, and I got to work. After some quick Googling and a lot of determination, I switched her to a limited‑ingredient diet (rabbit is her new protein), set her up with stainless steel bowls, and gave her a quiet space in our basement bathroom. She’s on 2 daily medications and occasional steroid injections.

While she isn’t completely back to normal yet, I don’t think anyone can argue that the difference in just 3 weeks isn’t incredible. Her face, her comfort, her energy — all changing for the better.

Now the real question is whether we can keep her on this track and help her stay well. I’m hoping that this incredibly affectionate girl gets the healthy future she deserves. I’m doing everything I can to support her, and it feels so good to see her finally feeling well 🩷

Weezer’s Ready for Round Two!

Yesterday wasn’t little Weezer’s day, but this pup is nothing if not determined. We’ll be back out at the SquishyfaceCrew adoption event this afternoon, hoping today is the day his luck turns and his forever family finally finds him.

Weezer is the last puppy of his litter still searching for his match, and he is so ready. At just 9 weeks old, he’s already a total superstar — dog, cat, and kid friendly, sweet as can be, and fully adoption ready. He’s the kind of puppy who makes you wonder how he hasn’t been scooped up yet.
