Hi friends!!

I am taking a short hiatus from grooming and will not be accepting new clientele for the time being. I cannot currently say for how long at the moment, tragically.

I greatly apologize for the inconvenience. Please know it breaks my heart to not be helping your pets right now. This is my passion.

Please contact me privately if you would like a referral to another local groomer. I have a very large community of individuals I trust wholeheartedly to uphold the same standards and care for your pet exactly as I would.

Take care, and I will be back. ❤️🐾

Yay - it’s Havanese day!! My favorite little pair, Luci(black&white) and Oliver(chocolate&white)🥰

I love these two SO much and they have SO much personality! If looks could kill I’d be 6 feet under.🫣 You can tell who loves their spa day and who…well..tolerates it.🤣 But they both LOVE their groomer🥹

These babies have been seeing me monthly in the comfort of their own home since their first grooms. I’ve had the pleasure of watching them grow into the perfect angels. There is nothing more rewarding!

Great job today, team!! See you next month❤️

Hi friends! This is a hard topic to discuss. We need to talk about matting.

What is matting?
In the simplest form, matting occurs when hair or fur tangles together in tight knots. This is not a cosmetic issue - it is a medical concern that causes immense pain and discomfort to your pet. Individual hair shafts create a structure of woven fibers that causes the strands to barb together if not correctly maintained.

Why is matting so serious?
Unresolved matting can cause restricted circulation, painful skin irritation, and hide potential medical issues such as infections, parasites, and underlying injuries. In most severe cases, matting so extensive can cause open flesh wounds that can be fatal if not caught. Some pets can lose blood flow to their limbs which leaves amputation as their only option.

How can I identify matting?
Run your fingers through your pet’s coat in the most high density areas to start - belly/sanitary, behind ears, tail, and legs. Your hand should be able to easily glide through the coat to the skin without being caught. I then suggest using a low power dryer for a closer look. If there are clumps of hair sitting against the skin, you are observing matting. You should also be able to pull a fine-tooth metal comb through your pets coat to the skin without resistance.

What can I do if my pet has matting?
With extensive matting there is only one humane option which is to clip underneath the mats close to the skin and release the tight circulation. Not only does this prevent the potential for injury by using a very short blade with minimal space between the “teeth”, but it ensures the hair follicle can grow back healthier and easier to maintain. When you try to “de-mat”, you are causing micro-tears in the hair follicle that make the coat more prone to matting in the future.

I am going to be entirely blunt here:

If you are attempting to de-mat your dog for aesthetic purposes or are trying to find a groomer that will, that is CRUELTY. Causing discomfort to an animal purely for your vanity is never excused.

However, I will always provide the most amount of grace towards pet owners who have not been properly educated on matting and may have been taught harmful grooming methods. It is not your fault.

The grooming industry is not regulated and you will get conflicting information from various sources.

Please trust me that not only is my information always science-based, the advice I give will always be with your pet’s best intention in mind because that is my job.

And admittedly - at 16, I had my 7 month doodle groomed for the first time. We’ve all been there. 🫣 This is a safe space to learn and grow if you want to love and understand your pet like I do. ❤️

Kiss your fuzzy friends for me - and grab that brush and comb! 🐾

Hi friends! I have been getting an influx of messages regarding handling anxious pets specifically.

I’d like to address a few things regarding my specialized behavioral program.

Grooming services for fearful pets that have developed trauma is a process and an immensely long one. Progress is not linear, and, just like us, growth will look different for everyone.

This does not mean recovery isn’t possible. But it will not come quick!

Most, if not all of the time, counter-conditioning will take several visits. It is a training method that builds trust while still allowing your pet to make the choice for themselves on how they’d like to proceed.

I will come back in multiple appointments to allow your pet to recover and reassess. I will only charge you for the service I complete alone. The additional training I do with your pet is all inclusive.

And that - my friends - is FEAR-FREE! Waiting however long it takes for your pet to become calm, comfortable and cooperative to the grooming process.

There is a quicker way, I am sure. However forcing a pet to submit for a service will never be the right way in the end. If you want to restrain your pet for a nail trim, I am not the groomer for you.

Please trust that working towards your pet’s comfort is my absolute passion. There is nothing more rewarding! Let’s help your friend together. 🐾💕

I got to visit one of my dearest friends Ms. Bella this week. She is such a special girl!

I originally met Bella in 2023 while working mobile. She has always had car anxiety, so a groomer coming to her was the most comfortable option.
Over time, as all dogs do, Bella has aged and we’ve needed to make accommodations to keep her safe throughout her service.

This time, this diva had entire freedom to lay in her bed next to her mom and eat snacks as I worked to clip her down into a short summer cut. We took breaks - we played “where’s Bella?” around the house - and roughly 2 hours later, this beautiful girl was feeling much better.

Bella’s mom bathes and air dries her a few days later after she gets her short cut. This ensures Bella has time to decompress and air drying avoids the potential of frequency seizures which she has had a history of.

THIS is what the grooming experience is about. Time, space, and PATIENCE - but I will always have endless bounds of it for your pet.

Dogs do speak, but only to those who listen. It’s amazing what you can do with a dog who feels safe. That is the most rewarding part of my job.❤️

Great job to both Bella AND her mom for the amazing teamwork! See you next time, sweet girl 🥰

Hi friends! It seems so many people unfortunately don’t understand the finances that go into providing grooming services. I’d like to share.

How much it costs me (roughly) to groom your dog:

Clippers - $450
Blades - $50 each
Shears - $95 each
Brushes - $30-70 each
Combs - $10-40 each
Bathing products & skin care - $60-75
Dryer - $85(needs an upgrade)
Grooming table - $200
Accessories - $10-25
Travel bag - $150
Gas - $35-40 bi-weekly

Continuing education - $900-1k annually
CPR & first aid certification - $50 annually
Fear-free training - $100 annually

I understand you can find cheaper. You will always get what you pay for. Owning a pet is a luxury and grooming services are a necessity.

Trust that I have taken the time in my career to ensure your pets will get the absolute best care guaranteed. A reputable, professional groomer is worth every penny - I promise you that. 💕

Thank you, always, to my clientele that understand and appreciate the work I do for their animals! You mean the world to me!🐾
