Tis the season for LOTS of baking! This is one of our favorites!

Spice Crumbtop Muffins

Oven: 350 degrees
3/4 cup milk
1/3 cup melted butter
3/4 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cloves

Crumbtop:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup light-brown sugar
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 sticks chilled unsalted butter, cut into pieces
(This makes twice the amount you need. I tend to make this back to back with pies so I make all of it and use the access for the pie topping)

We moved nugget and her babies to the side porch and made them a nice SAFE area. This hen is super special. We rescued her from the feed store. She was dying and I gave it a shot rehabbing her. She made a full recovery and we love her so. Very fitting that she would hatch our first chicks here at Dixie :)
