LUCY | DIRTY DANCE ME SLOW 💕
Coming 9yr old, registered QH mare that stands 14.3 hands. Big bodied, super cute trot and great ground manners. She is very personable and loves to be loved and is happy to spend time with you. Lucy is going walk, trot, canter and has been started over small fences and lead changes, where she has proven to be extremely brave and enthusiastic. She has her own motor and can be forward thinking at the canter and to the fences, more so in a outdoor setting than a indoor. Your girl LOVES an indoor arena. Will happily plop around on the buckle with her mom in her walk/trot lessons.

Low miles and green for her age but will be a blast for a capable, good riding older kid, adult or young pro to put the finishing touches on. She is going to make up into a nice local winning type. Could go the hunter or jumper route. Would also be an awesome in house lease or lesson horse for a program with some finishing touches. She was just started under English tack 6 months ago. Previously was rode around western.

Small mare 🧡 Sporty ride 🤎 Big fun 🤍 Available for SALE or LEASE!

Flicka is a 7 year old, 15 hand mare who is big fun! She is comfortable, straightforward on the flat, super brave to the jumps, takes mistakes and has a lead change. A kid or small adult who likes to GO would have an absolute blast with this one.

Brought along and shown by a teen in Canada, Flicka has miles through the .85 jumpers and has proven herself to be competitive in the jumper ring, which is definitely where she thrives. She is quiet and easy on the flat but perks up for the jumps and is a forward ride with her own motor to the fences.

While jumpers are her happy place, she is versatile enough to do plenty of other things. I think she would be game and so happy on XC, and loves to trail ride and hack out. She settles into new places well and is the no drama type.

Above the Bar Sport Horses is hiring an additional full-time groom and a part time barn assistant for our hunter/jumper program in Franklin, Kentucky.

This is a 6 day per week position. Responsibilities include daily horse care such as stalls, turnout, grooming, tacking, bathing, and barn and facility upkeep. This position travels with us to horse shows.Competitive pay with housing provided. You must be experienced, hardworking, and nice to my horses.

PART TIME BARN ASSISTANT
This position is 3 days per week, with some flexibility on which days. Duties include but are not limited to, grooming, tacking, bathing, course setting, barn organization, errands, show packing, preparing sales and show horses for photos, videos, and rides. Body clipping and mane pulling experience is a bonus, but not required.

You must be reliable, organized, detail oriented, and willing to help wherever needed. This is not a riding position, but riding can be included for someone experienced who wants ride time. I am willing to give plenty of opportunities to the right hardworking person who wants them.

2003, 15.2 1/4 hand gelding available for lease. A true Low Child/Adult Hunter machine, derby king and confidence builder with an automatic lead change, leg ride and all the miles. Troy can absolutely still do the 2’6”, but we would love to find him a 2’–2’3” job with the occasional 2’6” class. Knows his job, takes a joke and is just plain fun. 2010, 13.0 hand medium pony mare available for yearly lease only. A true xrails through Short Stirrup packer type. Cute, safe and always jumps. She does have a lead change, but it is not easy for a kid to get, so we consider her a no-change pony but a lead landing queen. Loves to trail ride and knows how to be a kid’s best friend. Perfect for a xrail kiddo looking to move up to the short stirrup. In-barn lease highly preferred, but will consider lease to an excellent show home with great care. Four figures to lease. Not for sale.

STORMY MOON | LILO
7 year old, 16 hand Thoroughbred mare available for care lease. Trainer owned (mine), but currently on my back burner. Previously coursing 2’6” with a lead change and currently flatting a couple times a week. She is ready for someone to put her back into a consistent program. Lilo is smart, sensitive and athletic, but can sometimes be reactive, so she needs a confident rider comfortable with a green type and some patience and stickability on a bad day. Lots of turnout is a big plus for her.

If you’re a trainer with a brave teen or adult who lives at the barn, can ride green ones, doesn’t have the budget to lease something but has the time and wants something to love, let’s talk. I’m more interested in finding Lilo the right person and a job than anything else. More hunter type, but I would not be opposed to some low level XC for her brain. 2010, 13.0 hand medium pony mare, very sadly outgrown and ready for her next kid! She is a true ground poles through Short Stirrup packer type. A great first pony lease. Cute as can be, always jumps, trail rides, knows how to smile and knows how to be a kid’s best friend. She does have a lead change, but it is not easy for a kid to get but is a landing lead queen.

In-barn lease at Above the Bar Sport Horses highly preffered, but will lease off-site to a quality show home with excellent care and program.

As our amazing assistant heads off to college fulltime, Above the Bar Sport Horses is looking to add another person to our team to fill the gap.

Our immediate need is 3 days per week, but for the right person, I would be open to creating a full time position.

Above the Bar is a hunter/jumper program with a strong focus on hunters. I’m looking for someone 18+ who is confident and comfortable riding a variety of horses. A strong foundation in flatwork is important.

There will always be horses to ride, but this position is more than riding. Above the Bar is a fast moving program with both show clients and horses in our sales program, and I’m looking for someone who enjoys being involved in all the details that fit into keeping our program running smoothly.

Some days you may be helping ride several horses, other days you may be helping with sales videos and photos, setting courses, preparing for horse shows, organizing the barn, or taking care of the many little details that make a difference.

Jumping experience is not required, but it is a bonus. If jumping is something you are confident in, there will be plenty of opportunities but not required.

I’m looking for someone who can be a bit of a right hand or chaos coordinator. Someone who notices the little things, is one step ahead, and doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty. The right person is dependable, organized, proactive, takes direction well, and takes pride in doing things the right way.

Expense/care lease opportunity available at Above the Bar Sport Horses in Franklin, KY. I am willing to get very creative for the right, committed person.

Lilo is a 7 year old, 16h Thoroughbred mare who is desperately wanting a person! She is trainer owned (mine), but currently somewhat on the back burner simply because there are only so many hours in the day. She really wants and needs a job, and more than anything, she needs someone committed to her.

She is smart, sensitive and bold. She will course around 2’6”, has an easy lead change and has the scope for more. She is still green and a bit mentally immature, so she needs a good riding teen or adult who understands green horses and actually enjoys the process. One day may be fantastic and the next may have you wondering if her brain is functioning properly. That said, she is really cool and has a ton of potential just needs consistency that I cannot give her right now.

I would love to find her an onsite care lease here at Above the Bar, but I would also consider an offsite lease to a GOOD, solid program with turnout for a junior or adult rider who needs something to ride under the guidance of a trainer.

If you’re a trainer with a gritty, scrappy kid or adult who lives at the barn, doesn’t have a huge budget or one at all, but needs something to love, ride and show, reach out.

I care much more about finding Lilo the right person than making a conventional lease deal. I do not want to sell her.

2011, 15.3 hand Warmblood x mare. Has a great, comfortable canter and could very easily do First Level dressage with some tuning up. Takes leg but isn’t dull. I ride her in a small nub spur and a rubber Nathe bit. Responsive to the aids with a great “whoa.” You can put her together or ride her on a loose rein. Very cute mare that loves attention and is the type that quickly wants to become her humans best friend. Perfect choice for someone looking for a horse they can school dressage one day and trail ride the next, or simply flat around, bee bop over a few crossrails, and just enjoy.
