We just wrapped up our second show of the season! We won some, lost some, but as always, learned a lot along the way.

I am incredibly proud of our entire team over these past two shows. Their grit, horsemanship, and sportsmanship never cease to amaze me. From first horse shows and new partnerships to first derbies, it’s been so rewarding to watch everyone grow and gain experience. We are lucky to have such a wonderful local show series where we can get valuable miles, learn, and have a great time doing it.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helps make this possible - my amazing staff at home, all the parents, my incredible assistant AK, and our hardworking groom. I am beyond grateful for everything you do to set this team up for success!

9yr old, 16.2 big bodied Oldenburg mare. Currently showing in the low child/adult hunters and ready to move up. Big, slow, consistent step and gives a great feeling to the jumps. She is a blast to ride, honest, safe and brave with easy lead changes. Ready to step into the 3 foot soon with potential, scope and ability for more. Loves attention and to be fussed over. Easy enough for a kid / adult but quality enough for a pro to be competitive on during the week. Truly one of my favorite horses ever.

9-year-old registered Quarter Horse mare standing 14.3 hands. Sweet, personable, and easy to handle with great ground manners. Going walk, trot, canter, started on small fences, and lead changes. 12-year-old, 16.1h Appendix gelding with quality flatwork, a comfortable canter, and previous experience jumping 2'6" with scope for more. It’s that time! Time for a very special Congratulations post 🥂

As the story goes - mares like to find me and somehow convince theirselves that they must stay…. at all cost. Oakley was no exception. To be very honest, I could write a whole book here - but I will save the time. (Insert Francesca a couple months ago for some help and feedback)

I chuckled their first ride 🤪 and wondered how God was going to work this out because it was clear she picked Francesca and I think my entire barn agreed….and always on time, he did.

Francesca Case has been my trainer, friend, sounding board, support system, second mom and a huge rock in my life for the past 11 years. She is tough but kind, supportive, passionate and comes with a sense of humor in and out of the saddle that we all should strive to have. I know why Oakley picked her, because there isn’t a better horsewoman to develop her and have success with her.

I am beyond excited to congratulate Francesca on the purchase of Oakley Off Gold! Not only is this mare drop dead gorgeous, a powerhouse, a perfectionist and just enough quirky to keep you entertained but most of all, I get to see Francesca back in the show ring with a horse that has every bit of the WOW factor that she deserves.

Francesca, 🥂 to matching pintos, another mare and perhaps, the horse of a lifetime. I am so excited for you and cannot wait to see all the amazing memories you are about to make.

2022 Small Junior Prospect ♥️

Meet Marley | TM Rastaman - A coming 4yr old, 15.1 hand (and growing) bundle of cuteness! Started slowly and correctly to preserve his great brain and demeanor. Marley is going walk, trot, canter and just started over fences + just went to his first show as luggage to gain miles and experience. He is brave, plenty of step to make it down the lines and is proving to have the ability and scope to make up into a 3 foot + horse. He is careful and brave. Perfect combination of not too much motor but not a complete leg ride, very willing and good work ethic.

I see him developing into a super safe 2’6”-3 foot packer type long term with the ability to do the small juniors. This boy has some scope. Good canter and a step that will make it down the lines very easily. He is quiet enough for a junior or adult looking for a young one to bring along with the help of a trainer. Large pony like! His sire is Cadlanvalley Manhatten, a medium pony. Not registered but could be if beneficial to his new home!

If you are looking for good minded youngster in a smaller package that is going to be easy like Sunday morning to bring along, this one is it. He is trainer owned and his mom will be selective where he goes as she would like to stay in touch and follow his progress. Plenty of videos available.

A splash of adorable to make your Friday a little brighter 😍! Meet Above the Bar Sport Horses Flicka!

7yr old, 15 hand pinto mare that is a blast to ride and willing to do any job. Flicka is extremely comfortable with three nice, balanced gaits, a lead change and is jumping around the 2’6” with plenty of scope for more. She would be the perfect choice for a kid or adult looking to do all of the things. I personally think she would be a blast on XC and in the dressage ring but would be just as happy doing the local hunters. She has been ridden, brought along and shown by a teen up to .85 jumpers in Canada the last few years and has proven to be a competitive jumper. She is quiet on the flat with a motor to the fences. Perfect age for someone to snag her up and take her whatever direction you would like. This one is sweet and super easy to have in the barn and handle. Loves to trail ride and hack out and settles into new places well - no drama type. Low/mid fives.

Above the Bar Sport Horses is looking to add a working student to our team. Lots of opportunities available to the right candidate. We are primarily a hunter/equitation show program that also specializes in equine sales & consignment. Great opportunity for someone looking to gain knowledge & experience. 18 years old +

Looking for the following:
3-5 days per week (we can be flexible on days but not working hours). We are located in Franklin, KY (about 45 mins from downtown Nashville). Reliable transportation is necessary. Must be a hard worker & self motivated. Our horses COME FIRST and that requires hard work. If you aren’t looking to get your hands dirty, this isn’t the position for you.

Lessons and riding opportunities available to the right candidate in exchange or can be a compensated position.

Duties include:
- grooming, lunging, tacking, untacking, wrapping, bathing etc.
- Horse laundry, barn cleaning & organization
- Assist with sale videos, preparation for customers and ring setting
- Minimal barn work but must be willing to jump in and help keep things running smoothly
- Be efficient and able to take direction in a fast paced, busy environment.
