I create and donate artwork of K9s who've passed away for their handler. It is a true honor for me to create memorial artwork for these K9 heroes who have passed away. Each one served faithfully beside their handler, and I know their loss leaves an incredible void both personally and within the department.

Please join me in sending prayers and condolences to the New York State Police and K9 Handler, Trooper Edward E. Reiser and family as they mourn the passing of retired K9 Dunn.

NYSP shared: "K9 Dunn faithfully served alongside Trooper Edward E. Reiser of the Troop K Community Stabilization Unit from September 2018 until his retirement in March 2025.

During his career, Dunn assisted in hundreds of investigations involving illegal fi****ms and significant quantities of narcotics, fugitive apprehensions, and the recovery of more than $10 million in U.S. currency associated with narcotics investigations.

K9 Dunn was proudly named in honor of Trooper Vincent A. Dunn and was a dedicated partner and valued member of Troop K and the New York State Police".

I sincerely hope the artwork brings some comfort and serves as a reminder that people recognize your loss and care about what you are going through.

Today we recognize the hardworking men and women whose dedication, sacrifice, and determination help keep our communities and our country moving forward.

A special thank you to our farmers who work from sunup to sundown to feed our nation, and our truck drivers who spend countless hours and miles on the road making sure the things we need get where they need to go. 🚜🌾🚛

We also honor our first responders, law enforcement officers, firefighters, military members, healthcare workers, essential workers, small business owners, tradespeople, and everyone who works tirelessly each day to provide for their families and serve others.

And we certainly can't forget the incredible working animals who serve beside their human partners — police K9s, military working dogs, search and rescue dogs, service animals, therapy animals, and so many others. 🐾❤️

No matter what your job may be, your hard work matters and is appreciated.

May you and your family have a safe, peaceful and blessed Labor Day! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

Behind every piece of memorial artwork I create for a K9 who has passed away is a heartbroken handler.

A handler who has lost a partner.
A protector.
A family member.
A best friend.
A loyal companion who stood beside them through situations most of us will never experience.

When I share these K9 memorials, I do so to honor their lives, their service, and the incredible bond they shared with their handlers. There is a real person grieving behind every one of these posts.

So please, think before you comment.

Today, someone left an incredibly insensitive comment on a memorial post for a K9 who recently passed away. I responded, deleted the comment, and blocked the individual.

I believe people are entitled to their opinions, but there is a time and a place for everything. A memorial post for a beloved K9 is NOT the place for cruel, sarcastic, insensitive, or hurtful remarks.

These handlers may see your words. Their families may see them. Their fellow officers may see them. They are already grieving. They don't need a stranger adding to their pain.

Comments like this will be deleted and the person will be blocked. No exceptions.

And yes — I DO read every comment.

Please help me keep Andy's Paw Prints a place where our fallen K9 heroes are remembered with the honor, compassion, dignity, and respect they deserve. 🐾💙

Be kind. Be respectful. Remember there is a grieving heart on the other side of the screen.
