Kitten season is officially here, and we have a fresh batch of tiny toe beans getting ready to make their adoption debut on Wednesday! These adorable little ones are very social will be available for adoption when Williamson County Animal Center opens at 10am, and trust us—you'll want to meet them.

If you're thinking about bringing home a kitten, we HIGHLY encourage adopting a pair. Why? Kittens teach each other important social skills, burn off energy by wrestling with each other instead of your ankles, provide built-in companionship, and are less likely to develop behavioral issues associated with "Single Kitten Syndrome." While not a medical condition, Single Kitten Syndrome is a term used to describe behaviors that can develop when a kitten grows up without another young feline companion, including excessive biting, rough play, attention-seeking behaviors, and difficulty learning appropriate social boundaries.

The adoption fee (with an approved application) is just $50 per kitten. All kittens are spayed or neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV and FeLV, dewormed, and ready to head home with their new families.

Williamson County Animal Center will be open Wednesday from 10am–6pm. Expedite your visit by completing an adoption interest form online before you arrive. These little ones won't stay little—or available—for long!

If you cannot adopt, but would like to help, please consider donating a jug or two of clumping cat litter. We have over 180 mamas and kittens in foster homes currently. Any brand will do! Thank you for your support! Our address is 1006 Grigsby Hayes Court, Franklin, TN 37064

The newest crew of cats, kittens, puppies, and dogs has officially arrived, and trust us...you're going to want to see these faces in person. Whether you're looking for a playful sidekick, a couch-snuggle specialist, a hiking buddy, or a tiny troublemaker who fits in the palm of your hand, we've got a little bit of everything waiting for you.

Better yet? Every adoptable pet is already spayed or neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and ready to start their next chapter. Williamson County Animal Center is open today until 6pm, so grab a friend, make a quick detour after work, and come meet the pets everyone will be talking about tomorrow.

UPDATE: the German Shepherd was just picked up!

St. Bernard (Swiss accent): Guten day. I was found near Good Springs Road and McGavock Road in Brentwood. No microchip.

German Shepherd (German accent): Amateur. I was found near Abbottsford Road and Fayette Road in Brentwood. I am chipped, but the number was a dead end.

St. Bernard: Ah. So our humans enrolled in the "Let's Make Reclaiming My Pet Extra Difficult" program.

German Shepherd: It appears so.

St. Bernard: Fortunately, we have been located.

German Shepherd: Unfortunately, our people still have not.

St. Bernard: If you recognize either of us, please call Williamson County Animal Center at (615) 790-5590 x13400.

German Shepherd: The shelter is open until 6pm today.

St. Bernard: We'd like to go home.

German Shepherd: And we'd like to have a very serious conversation with our humans about microchips.

Help us reunite these two with their families!

Petunia (1 year, 7 months) is the kind of dog other dogs seem to naturally gravitate toward. She is playful, social, and has excellent canine manners—reading the room, respecting boundaries, and taking corrections from other dogs with ease. Whether she's romping around with friends or chasing after a tennis ball in a game of fetch, Petunia brings a fun-loving energy wherever she goes.

While she can be a little shy when meeting new people, she warms up quickly once she realizes you're a friend. Petunia would likely do best in a home without small children, as she prefers a calmer environment, but dog savvy teenagers should be just fine. If you're looking for a dog-friendly companion with a playful side, Petunia may be the perfect addition to your family. Stop by to meet Petunia today! Williamson County Animal Center is open from 10am-6pm Monday-Friday and Saturday from 11am-3pm.

The dog was found wandering near Clovercroft and Scales Farmstead in , looking like he had somewhere important to be but forgot both the address and the itinerary. Meanwhile, this cat was found Friday near 1800 Brentwood Pointe in . The cat even has a microchip...which is kind of like having a phone with no contacts saved in it because, unfortunately, the chip was never registered. While we are doing our best to figure out their owners, would you help us spread the word?

If either of these furry citizens looks familiar, or if you're the human they're currently searching for, please give us a call at (615) 790-5590 x13400. Williamson County Animal Center is open until 6pm today for reclaim. Let's help these two reunite with the people who are probably wondering why the house suddenly feels a little too quiet!

Meet Trout (7 months, 13 lbs). Before anyone asks, no...he is not a dog-fish, does not swim upstream to spawn, and has never once been caught on a lure. What he has been caught doing is typical puppy stuff: playing, zooming, exploring, and generally acting like the world is one giant amusement park. Originally found out adventuring on his own, Trout is now looking for a family willing to help him learn the ropes of being a well-mannered grown-up dog.

Like any young puppy, Trout is active, playful, and will need continued training. He enjoys other dogs and would love an adopter ready for all the fun (and occasional mischief) that comes with puppyhood. The best part? At just 13 pounds, Trout will likely remain on the smaller side when fully grown. If you're looking for a compact-sized companion with a big personality, cast your line and reel this little guy in today! Williamson County Animal Center is open from 10am-6pm Monday-Friday and 11am-3pm on Saturday.

UPDATE: Carson was adopted today! ☺️
Good day, future family. My name is Carson, and while I may still be a puppy, I consider myself quite the distinguished gentleman. I enjoy fine dining (especially if it involves treats), leisurely strolls, meeting new friends, and occasionally conducting important puppy business that may or may not involve stealing a sock. I’m currently searching for a forever family who appreciates charm, good looks, and a healthy sense of adventure. If you’ve been looking for a loyal companion who can make you laugh every day, I invite you to come meet me today. I have plenty of love, tail wags, and puppy kisses ready to share. Williamson County Animal Center is open for adoptions from 11am-3pm today.
