✈️🏰 Mallory is officially OUT OF OFFICE! 🏰✈️

I’ll be out of town starting tonight through September 1st because I’m heading to DISNEY for the FIRST TIME! 🤩🏰

So before anything else — give me ALL your Disney suggestions! Rides I HAVE to do, food I need to try, things that are overrated, things I absolutely cannot miss… I want to hear it all! 😂👇

Now for the boring business stuff while I’m gone…

💬 Facebook messages will not be answered until after September 1st. I’m actually going to attempt to be on vacation while I’m on vacation. 😂

🐾 If your pet is with us for a grooming appointment, your groomer will give you their direct contact number so you can check in with them directly if needed.

📞 Our main phone line will be transferred to Haley, and she’ll be handling scheduling questions, appointment changes, and helping keep everything together while I’m gone!

Haley has the phone, the schedule, and my full confidence… whether she wants all three or not. 🤣❤️

Most importantly, please give our girls a little extra patience and grace over the next few days. ❤️ They’ll be taking on a lot of the things I normally handle while also keeping up with their regular jobs.

They’ve got this…but I’m also fully expecting them to be VERY happy to hand my job back to me when I get home. 🤣

Be sweet to my girls, give them a minute if they need one, and remember they’re doing their best to keep everything running smoothly while I’m gone! 🐾❤️

She came into work this morning SKUNKED.

So, being the supportive coworkers we are, did we send her home?

Absolutely not.

We put her in the bathing room and tested the de-skunk solution on her. 💀🛁

And we’re happy to report:
✅ Safe for dogs
✅ Effective on skunk odor
✅ Apparently works on employees too

So if your dog goes outside and decides to FAFO with the forbidden black-and-white kitty, don’t panic. 😂

Bring that stinky little criminal to Animal Arts. We’ve got the products, the experience, and now…thanks to some very unfortunate field research

On today’s episode of “We gotta laugh or we’ll cry.”

Starring Ren and Jane, one doodle who decided she had no bones, one Samoyed who happily left enough fur to destroy our bathing room for weeks (sorry Lailynn).

&&&& In the first video, you’ll see Ren and Jane tag teaming a pup who was absolutely convinced face grooming was a terrible idea. So they did what groomers sometimes have to do. They sang, danced, made silly noises, and laughed right along with him. The second video shows the aftermath of one giant Samoyed deshed. Every bit of that fur has to be cleaned up before the next dog can even come in.

This is also why we ask for a 2 to 4 hour pickup window. It doesn’t mean your dog is sitting in a kennel the whole time. Throughout their visit, they’re bathed, dried, brushed, nails trimmed, prepped, and groomed. Some get breaks if they’re puppies, seniors, overweight, or just need a moment. While one dog rests, another is being worked on, all while we’re checking clients in and out, answering calls, helping walk-in nail trims, and, yes, cleaning mountains of fur.

We work hard every minute because we genuinely care about your pets. And hey, if timing is critical, just ask us about our express grooming option for eligible dogs.

And finally, thank you. Thank you for giving your groomers grace. Behind every beautiful groom is a whole lot of teamwork, patience, and cleanup, and sometimes a spontaneous concert for a Havanese who wasn’t sure we were the good guys.

Stop choosing your groomer based on convenience!

Your pets deserves better.

One of the biggest misconceptions in the pet industry is that all groomers have the same education and training.

They don’t.

In many states, including Ohio, dog grooming is not a government-regulated profession. There is no required state license to become a pet groomer.

That means anyone can buy a grooming table, order clippers online, rent a space, and start accepting clients.

Scary? It should be.

So ask questions.

How much continuing education have you completed?

Are you certified in Pet First Aid and CPR?

What would you do if my pet had a seizure, collapsed, or stopped breathing?

Is your salon monitored by security cameras? If not, why?

Can you recognize skin infections, parasites, ear disease, tumors, or other abnormalities that should be referred to a veterinarian?

How do you safely handle fearful, senior, or medically fragile pets?

If your groomer can’t confidently answer those questions, ask yourself why you’re trusting them with your best friend.

Please stop making decisions over a $5 difference or because one salon is five minutes closer.

You’re not paying for a haircut.

You’re paying for knowledge, safety, experience, judgment, and the ability to respond when something unexpected happens.

The groomers who truly care about this profession spend thousands of dollars every year on continuing education, certifications, trade shows, and advanced training…because they understand that learning never stops.

Your pet doesn’t get to choose who grooms them.
You do.
